I had a great time in Budapest this was the best I think ever conference for me BUT Copenhagen was also very good only because I got to get the Meister drunk and take advantage of him in a cage..JK JK.... he had the ward off all evil shirt on for protection... We did have a great time at a nice small Irish pub and at a dinner sponsored by Intertops. The Rosie MeGee's pub was the best get together out of the 2 trips I think because it was small and not a crazy club party where you cannot hear each other talk. Copenhagen reminds me of a mixture of Amsterdam and a bunch of corner pubs in the USA only much more expensive!!
Bryan was great seeing you again and see you soon! Greedy can you arrange caged rooms on our next get together?![]()
Had a good meal at Rosie McGee's one night but the next time I visited that pub it was so packed you couldn't get a drink, and the noise level was impossible.
However, all was not lost because Bryan had recce'd a really good alternative just down that street full of pubs -can't remember what it was called, but it had more ambience and some great underground vaulted rooms....and even its own brewery. That was the coolest spot in Copenhagen imo.
And there was a really good tapas restaurant called the Biscaya only a couple blocks from the hotel that would be worth a second visit imo.
The city was very efficient, clean and charming but maybe not as exciting as Barcelona for me, although I really liked the pavement cafes, Continental atmosphere and the friendliness of the Danish folks, all of whom seemed to speak excellent English (which always makes things easier for the linguistically challenged like me!)
And I've never seen so many people of all ages riding bicycles....that must keep a lot of them fit.
I can recommend the boat tour of the canals and waterways - that was interesting and very informative.
But my word it was an expensive city!
