    Solicitors

Can anybody recommend any solicitors in the midlands who would have a knowledge of gambling issues. I think very soon I am going to be suing a online bookmaker so need to be prepared.

    Hi Gregg,

I'd be worried if going to a solicitor was your first step here. The only 'no win no fee' lawyer ads I see generally revolve around slipping and falling in the workplace etc, so this wont be a cheap endeavor.

Before you go down that route why not give us a little of the information here. Between all the members we probably have a combined 10,000 years experience in the online gaming industry so might be able to help you with some (free!) advice first.

Have you PM'd the rep for the casino here? (if one exists?)
Have you considered a pab ? (make sure to read the rules first)
Have you complained to the licensing body for the casino? (not as pointless as some would have you believe)
Where is the legal jurisdiction for the casino? (you may find you need to hire a lawyer in Costa Rica, not the midlands...)

If all the above fails, then I'm sure someone here can point you in the direction of appropriate legal assistance, but I'd save that till last.

Hope things work out for you.

my case with ladbrokes is still ongoing. I have been told they are dealing with the matter internally. I have give them four full working days and still they have not bothered to come back to me when I ask how long will this be they say they dont know giving me no information whatsoever and im sick of it. Why should they be able to hold my money. I dont want to go into too much detail yet but i feel 4 full working days is enough to resolve my issue. Does anyone else agree with me? Can anybody tell me if they have had experiences with ladbrokes customer services and if they dealt with the matter accordingly and in a timely manner. Thanks in advance

Must say my experiences with getting paid from Ladbrokes have been quite good-3 working days for it to appear in my bank account-good times.....

They must have a reason for witholding your money..

I have to say that 4 working days really isn't a long time when it involves investigating whether or not a breach of self exclusion was broken. Patience is going to have to be something you may have to learn in this instance. You can start numerous threads about this topic, but you will find that some will get a tad riled when they find you are spreading yourself all over the place. So please, keep it to one thread.

Do you have proof of this self exclusion? Whereby the casino was at fault for allowing you to deposit and play? If so, then they owe you your deposit back and should close your account...PERIOD! If they don't have and can't prove you wanted self exclusion then they should pay you (and then ask to have your account closed).

VWM offered you some excellent advice in your other thread, along with some other members. PlexRep has offered you some excellent advice in this thread. What you choose to do with this advice is up to you.

I must agree with Ksech that four days is not a very long period for a casino to investigate.

Ladbrokes is accredited here, and you could PAB (Pitch-A-Bitch) which is a free mediation service offered by CM.

If you wish to avail yourself of this service, you must stop posting about your issue.

This FREE service has been very valuable to many players in getting them monies owed.

I don't know any FREE lawyers for civil litigation. I'd only be looking at pursuing legal action if other avenues failed.
