Also, RTG should have a trust account where a portion of money is kept as insurance for when a casino goes defunct. I have never seen RTG step up and address a rogue casino or a player issue.
That sadly goes for all software providers. The only a bit bigger ones that I know of that dont have these problems are Wagerworks and Cryptologic (well crypto doesnt have that many casinos). After all with casinos they just provide the software.

Lucky Slots and Cuba Club were problematic since the beginning. They could lock you out in the middle of wagering and just return your deposit.

    Bad

What's REALLY bad about this whole affair is the LYING and COVER UP, which went RIGHT TO THE VERY TOP (i.e. RTG themselves).

The operator LIED about them needing a 48 hour offline period in order to upgrade. RTG MUST have known at some time that they had actually ceased operating, yet kept quiet about it whilst players and affiliates attempted to make contact without success. When complaints started coming in via CDS, they simply brushed them aside by saying "xxxxx is no longer operating", yet there is STILL no official press release about this.

It's not even just a case of them ceasing operations either, they have BAILED on their obligations, and have used to server upgrade and outage as cover to buy themselves some time to "do a runner", making it harder for them to be pursued.

RTG have NOT simply "done nothing", they have ASSISTED the operators by keeping secret the fact that the server upgrade was a lie, and that they had really ceased operating.

They could simply have gone bust, but did so in a highly questionable manner, NO calling in of liquidators, contacting creditors as to what is happening, and how they should claim what is owed. They also had a head start if their idea was to "do a runner" WITH THE MONEY LEFT IN THE COMPANY, which is ILLEGAL in almost any country you can think of.

When MGS were in a similar predicament with TUSK and Eurolinx, they had NO money held "in trust", BUT, they DID at least make official statements regarding what they knew, which made it clear what had happened, what players should do, and eventually, who they should be contacting (the liquidators). RTG have said NOTHING so far, and now it is too late.

Players who deposited by credit card though at least have a chance to recover SOME money through the card companies, and since it now looks like a case of the operator having gone bust, the door is open.

Exactly, could be one of the very, very rare instances where charge back is justified when someone is stiffed with zero possibility of getting their money.

People need to realize that by patronizing RTG platforms you are indirectly condoning their stance on these issues. I feel RTG themselves are a scum outfit and if I were running a reputable casino I wouldn't feel too good about having any kind of association with them. After this it might not be too surprising if some of the more reputable casinos jumped ship and moved to a different software provider.

This would be the perfect ime for reputable RTG's to make the move to some of the better platforms that were looked upon as an excellent casino as per Wizard Of Gaming (no licenses there so no competition to worry about yet) and the Inchili one which I really liked a lot..can't remember for the life of me what it was, but I sure liked their games..

So here are two platforms that you can launch and be ahead of the others as many leave the RTG platform for better stomping grounds IMO..

I think some of the older opererators will be to paralyzed to make the move (scared) thinking their shrinking player base will not move with them, but I think they might be in for a surprise if they do decide to "give it a shot" and move over...

I doubt that the Hype Gaming software (even if it still exists, which I doubt) would be a good idea - that was a company mired in intrigue and subterfuge as a search of the archives at Casinomeiter will reveal.
