DUPLICATE POKER CONDONES SPAM BY AFFILIATES.

Got your attention? This is totally ridiculous. I've NEVER seen any NON ROGUE casino/poker room|affiliate program that condones spam. This is their reply:

    Dear Brian ,

If our affiliates are advertising our site we have no desire to stop this. If you wish to not receive emails from them you need to get off their email list. You would have to contact them directly. There is a difference between spam and marketing and my guess is that you are on a list that you need to get off of. But it is not from us so we can't do anything about this.

If you have any further questions or concerns please visit us in our Customer Care Forum where you will get quick replies and help from other players. Or do not hesitate to contact us from the information below.

    Duplicate Poker's policy regarding spam

    Hi,
My name is Liat, and I am the Affiliate Program Manager at Duplicate Poker.
I would like to clear the issue below.

There was a misunderstanding of the player's compliant by our customer support.
We condemn spam, and when we have information or complaint about an affiliate that spam, we do our best efforts to handle this issue.

If a player is exposed to spam by one of our affiliates, please contact our players support with as much information as possible regarding the spammer, and we'll contact the affiliate.

This issue had also been cleared with our customer support, and they are aware now of the actions they need to take.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or spam complaints.

    Best regards,
    Liat

    Hey Winbig,

If you forward the spam mail - or post it here to include the spam link - we'll figure out who the offending affiliate is.

    Thanks for the heads up.

I had originally emailed CS with the complete email including headers, and that's what they came back with. I am inclined to believe that it was confusion on their part, but ultimately they should have passed the complaint on instead of making a statement to the fact that as long as the site is promoted, they don't care how it's being done

    Here's the original:

....notice the use of zero instead of an O in poker. A clear indicator that it's spam and not just some newsletter or other legit mailing.

    *bump*

Received the exact same email from the exact same affiliate advertising the exact same domain name today, over 2 weeks after the original was sent.

I guess their original response of allowing this to go on was correct....

I'm assuming their affiliate ID is the cbid=415_6873?

    spam

Thank you for alerting this issue again. We had contacted the affiliate and asked him to stop sending spam. This is the first complaint since then.
We will contact him again, and if the affiliate won't stop spamming immediately, we will close his account.

Please keep us informed if you still get spam from any of our affiliates.

    Thanks a lot,

    Hi Liat,

My suggestion is to close his account immediately. Once a spammer - always a spammer. He already ignored you once. And all it will take is a few complaints to Spamhaus etc. and your URL will be listed in their spammer's database. This will cause you more grief than imaginable. Once you're listed, you are pretty much screwed. All because of an affiliate who has no business ethics. Let the spammer spam for someone else - let your competitors get listed

Keeping rogue affiliates sends a wrong message to both the player and affiliate community.

    Close the account.

    update -

Just received another piece of spam from the same affiliate today. I was told last time (the 2nd time) that mine was the only complaint since the affiliate was originally reported, but I find that hard to believe.

Even so, why is this affliate's account still active?

And yes, the DP rep here has been notified - again.

Personally, I'm not convinced I've ever been able to stop spam by clicking on the links that say "click here to opt out", or by contacting the casinos themselves. I think for the most part, they all are selling all our info to spammers, and denying any responsibility.

Duplicate Poker Representative: I was thinking of signing up for your poker room, but now I won't, seeing that you aren't doing the right thing the first time. Like the owner of this website states, once a spammer, always a spammer, and you should just close his account immediately- no need to keep trying to reform said rogue affiliate!

Also, in general, the problem is, your customer support representatives, for the most part, on ANY poker room or casino, are all pretty much robotic morons who read from a script. They aren't capable of thinking independently or really listening to your customers. Stop outsourcing to India and Central America, and then maybe we could get a rep who actually speaks and understands English well.
