It's a case of reading the small print. From this, it seems there are very few cases where the "No playthrough, No max cashout" will actually apply.

However, the terms also appear to allow certain methods to be used to beat the bonus, and given that you are allowed to try 10 times on each coupon it is pretty much a dead cert you could produce a profit, therefore it is too good to be true, and therefore is not.

The most obvious strategy is Poker 3 pair plus, cashing out immediately on a straight flush or 3OK (or even a good run of lesser hands). The low HE of the pair+, along with the peak payouts on hands that hit around once in 300 or so (and the fact you get to try again and again 10 times), make these bonuses a good bet. No doubt, if you cashed out, Poker 3, or any other game won on, would suddenly become one requiring the 25x playthrough, and winnings would be voided as a withdrawal had been attempted before this was achieved.

He probably received an offer to mediate, and most casinos will respect Bryan and either accept the offer, or refuse to take part citing their own mediation procedures. Very few will just throw all their toys out of the pram, and have a tantrum in some player's casino account.

I rather suspect this has all been a set up. Few players would spot the implication of that nasty term about lifetime bonuses, and all the casino needs do is ensure players are offered (and take up), bonuses at least equal to their lifetime deposits. This would explain the willingness to give free chips seemingly on request, so that should a big win be hit without a bonus (removing the usual non-payment excuses), then can execute this lifetime clause to limit the damage. This clause could even make it impossible for a player to even win back their own lifetime losses, as upward variance is capped at 10x deposit, but downward variance is not (other than by more free chips offered, compounding the problem even more).
