    Not Impressed With ECogra

Well, it is now almost midday in the UK, and no statement and no action by ECogra. I suppose the next excuse will be that it was the weekend, and no one was available. I addressed that very issue in one of my emails to them.

More disturbing to me is that every link that I sent to them from yesterday on (at their request) is still active, including the one referring to people who are suicidal finding solace in slot machines.

I don't know how the rest of you feel, but my patience is about coming to an end. I really think they have had ample time to deal with this, and come to some sort of conclusion, whatever that may be. I mean, come on, this isn't the US Congress, where every decision made or bill passed has to go through a 100 stages. Neither is it rocket science.

    Waiting, watching.....toe tapping.

    Wayback Archive

Just to let you know that I am trying to do a search on the wayback archive but system seems down right now. Allslots was given ecogra accreditation on the the 1st of November 2004 so thats a good place to start!!

Does anyone know an alternative to Wayback?

    A question...

So - in the face of this diabolical behaviour by a previously respected group; behaviour that is beneath contempt and truly the lowest form of 'marketing' - where do they go next?

An open question... What can All Jackpots do to make amends to their customers, and the public at large?

What is the best course of action, in the players opinion, from here?

Is there any redemption? Do they deserve to be forgiven?

I re-iterate - were you sat in front of the powers that be at All Jackpots - what would you tell them to do EXACTLY from here?..

You know, while I'm disgusted with the actions of the casino...on the other hand, I am really happy to see the players/webmasters here pulling together to work on a common issue...instead of arguing amongst ourselves and pulling in a dozen different directions. There is some solace in that and maybe, just maybe, we can accomplish something.

Tricky. You either subscribe to one of two arguments: that they were stitched up or they knowingly did it. If they were "stitched up", then they are demonstrating a severe lack of quality control. So the question becomes is it an honesty issue or a procedural issue. Bit like the EH case actually.

Of course they will never ever admit to planning this strategy, as EH willl never ever admit to cheating deliberately. So I guess each player has to draw their own conclusion as to which it is. The unfortunate thing is that the majority of casual players are probably totally oblivious to it all whereas we have the benefit of sharing information and opinions to assist us.

Thanks Pinababy69, quite agree with what your saying. whilst not a regular on the site and not even a player have been working in the industry for over 5 years. A lot has been done by the industry over that period of time to clean up its act and be more reputable...especially in the area of social responsibility and there are a lot of good guys out there (dare I mention a certain 32red as well as lots of others) However something like this effects the reputation of the entire industry - especially with their connection to Ecogra and if not dealt with is a big blow to the reputation of the entire industry....Lets just hope Ecogra do the right thing to protect their reputation and that of the whole industry.

Great post... You know what, if they DID admit to planning it, say how stupid it was and apologise - I'd probably forgive them. I can totally understand how when you're so close to something, you fail to see the bigger picture (however stupid) and the impact. Personally speaking, I'd let them off with that.

The thing with the EH situation is, because it was alleged 'cheating' (and hence DIRECTLY affecting current players) - it's all over the internet like a rash!! (I did a Google search and was stunned by the results!) I agree this will have less of a detrimental business impact, although they'll DEFINITELY feel it. My opinion is that the majority of people who regularly spend a good amount of money online, take at least a cursory look at the various gambling related websites. This issue will be all over them - and that's bad for business... Agreed on the casual thing though... Mind you, better they play at a sleazy place that'll pay them fair and square, as opposed to a sleazy place that won't I guess! What *is* happening to this industry!!??

Excellent post Slotster, and really important as well. I haven't given it deep thought, but off the top of my head.

    1. Immediately remove ALL links to any of this garbage.

    2. Issue a public statement, with no excuses, accepting full responsibility for this fiasco and a full explanation as to how it happened in the first place. A grovelling apology and a solemn promise to never allow this to happen again would also be in order.

    3. Immediate removal of their ECogra Seal for at least a six month period, during which they would be on probation and watched very closely. After the six months were up, they could then re-apply for reinstatement of the Seal.

    4. A hefty, and I mean hefty, donation to any one of many possible charities. Possibly related to gambling addiction, or to any of the groups of disadvantaged people that they have seriously offended. A suicide prevention centre, or a cancer fund comes to mind, off the top of my head.

This would be a start Slotster, I'm sure there's more, but I've been eating, sleeping and breathing this shit for two days now...and I'm not sure I can come up with anything more right now. I don't know personally if I could ever forgive them, but the above would be a start.

They should donate considerable amounts to GA, arthritis/cancer research, etc. Then it would be a good move to voluntarily abandon the eCOGRA seal. I don't think it makes any difference whether they were aware of the articles' content.
