Letter to ECogra
This is the letter I just sent to ECogra. We are individually only one person, but together maybe we have a voice. ECogra NEEDS to address this issue ASAP!! And everyone here who agrees on that, needs to let them know. JMO.
----- Original Message ----- From: Lisa xxxxx To: info@ecogra.org Sent: Thursday, June 01, 2006 5:03 AM Subject: Jackpot Factory Hello, I am writing to you in reference to the latest marketing tactics being employed by the Jackpot Factory group of casinos, who bear the ECogra seal of approval. I am sure by now that you have been made aware of this issue currently being discussed at Casinomeister. I have long been a supporter of and player at a couple of the Jackpot Factory casinos. I considered them to be one of the best and most upstanding and trustworthy groups out there. My attitude has now changed drastically. The marketing tactics that they have employed to garner search engine hits are reprehensible. They have directly targeted: The poor The elderly People with arthritis People with serious financial problems People with ADHD People suffering the death of a loved one People in a state of chronic depression These are only a few. This is nothing short of predatory. They are preying on the weak, and most especially, the weak of mind. Strong, decisive action needs to be taken, and taken quickly. The message that this sends out to the online gaming community is pure sleaze. I am at a loss for words to even express my disgust. What you as one of their governing agencies decide to do in this matter, will speak volumes for your own credibility. You say you stand behind responsible gaming, and that all casinos carrying your Seal, do the same. This is the most irresponsible act I have ever seen in four years. You need to take action quickly, and issue a public statement as well, letting the community know where you stand on this. You need to ensure that this never happens again. If you have to make an example of Jackpot Factory to get this message across, so be it. The online gaming community is watching and waiting to see where you stand on this. Kind Regards, Lisa xxxxx |

One for the road.
Well here's a more realistic inspirational story for them, scratched on the Toilet wall at All Crackpots casino:-
Here I sit broken hearted, Got three Rams, and they only f**ted! I am sure we all know which "money making" slot inspired this one Still, into the third working day after the holiday and the mess is still there, albeit now well and truly swept under the rug of redirected links to the home page (crafty b***ers!, do they take us for idiots!) I suppose they think this bodge is OK as Googlebots are not likely to end up with a compulsive gambling problem! They may be silent on the issue now because eCogra is nipping at their a** already!!

Hypocrisy
You nailed that MrR!!! This was the headline to just one of their fine pieces of creative writing.
Want Guilt Free Overspending? Gamble At These Online Casinos From the Jackpot Factory webpage: Quote: While most people gamble for entertainment purposes, The Jackpot Factory acknowledges that gambling can create problems and harm some individuals. These problems can range from over-spending to a pathological gambling addiction. The Jackpot Factory is committed to creating a responsible gambling environment by implementing and maintaining eCOGRA’s responsible gaming requirements, for the benefit of both players and staff. They admit that it's one of the problems of gambling addiction, yet they target it directly with the search engines? This is just too bizarre even for my warped little mind. |

Clearly, they have set me a new challenge, I must aspire to leave my darling nieces the sum of £11,000,000 extracted from All Slots and All Jackpots over the remaining 40 or so years of active gambling left to me, and they will be OK with that, hey, it's a player testimonial, if this grandad can do it, why not me? or any one of us for that matter. Beats playing at all those scumbag casinos that seem to object to players ripping off all the bonuses and having the utter cheek to cash out before the Rams have f**ted!

Based on his previous "open door" record I am confident that your email will receive Andrew Beveridge's personal attention, Lisa.
He is aware of this disgraceful incident, because I and others have already been in contact with him. The apology and (apparent) firings of those responsible by JF, notwithstanding, I agree with you that this case demands timeous attention by eCOGRA as it does not to my mind meet the eCOGRA standards..

Firstly thanks to bpb for informing all of us what Jackpot Factory are doing concerning marketing their online casinos.
I am, as an affiliate of All Slots Casino quite sickened that a Casino I like, promote and thought I could trust and respect has stooped so low as this. How can an online casino support responsible gambling, yet publish some of the BS that appears on their sites. Why is this taking an age to remove from their websites? As such, until we get decisive action and a clear explanation as to why this happened This includes action being taken against the manager responsible for this, I have redirected all my Jackpot Factory Links on my sites to other casinos. It is not hard to do so. Sure they have more than one webserver serving the casino website, for load balancing. But just pull the articles and then run the replication software. Simple! This will then remove all the offending articles in a matter of seconds, from ALL WEBSERVERS servicing All Slots.com Also how the hell did these articles get on the webservers in the first place? I know from when I was the IT Manager for Ladbrokes, responsible for the Ladbrokes Casino and Ladbrokes Poker Servers - which included the Webservers for the website. That no articles can get on the respective websites unless signed off by a senior manager responsible for the casino/poker product. Heads should roll over this! eCOGRA also have to take firm and decisive action in my view as well, this should also include considering the removal of the eCOGRA Seal from these casinos in the Jackpot Factory Group. Failure to take action will send out IMO a very worrying message as far as eCOGRA's role in the industry is concerned. This is in addition to their inaction over the 888 BlogSpamming incidences, which also IMO should have got 888 stripped of their eCOGRA Seal. Last edited by Webzcas; 1st June 2006 at 12:35 PM. |

eCogra aware
I have had a reply from Tex at eCogra, and they are aware of this, consider this to be a serious matter, and I now find that all the links in this thread now produce "page not found" returns on the All Slots and All Jackpots servers.
We can only wonder how it took 2 days to just fiddle with the links to stop them being easily accessed from the home page, but around 2 hours to clear out everything this morning (UK time). We now must await the outcome of the investigation by eCogra, and compare this with the explanations offered by Jackpot Factory over the last couple of days. How this will affect their business in the long term remains to be seen, and a year or two later we should ask them "Was it worth it?" If they say "Yes", then the industry needs to change.
