Are you talking about that story about Michael Caselli?

I was just coming here to ask about that myself. I had to rub my eyes when I read it. For a minute there, it looked like something written by Chris Costigan (ugh).

    You Had Me Fooled!!

Geez, you gave me a much needed laugh when I read the Michael Caselli news item!! I would not have known it was fake if I hadn't went to the Global News-site to read more on the article. This site then led me to a link where they have a picture of Michael Jackson where you can click and drag his facial features into any distortion you want. My 9 and 12 year old daughters had a blast making him look even freakier than he already is!! Here's a case where he shouldn't have messed with Mother-Nature, he doesn't even look human anymore!! I liked him back in his Jackson Five days, then he went from bad to worse in his adult years!! sls616 (Sheri)

    fake

Not only that, but it's very disappointing. There are enough internet tabloids in the world that spread rumors and other garbage. Some of them do not take the time to check facts, others just make up the stuff as they go along simply for the sake of sensationalism. I'm not sure which category this goes into, but it is disappointing. I can read that kind of nonsense all day long at Sting's site, if that's what I wanted to waste my time on. I had always thought of this site as a place of informative discussion, not as just another internet rumor mill.

Jeez, Jerry please lighten up a little and put that Sting dispute behind you, man.

The 'Meister is just having some good natured fun and promoting the charity Sumo wrestling match at GIGSE! Others involved in the charity thing are also hyping the event up on their sites with pseudo threats and insults on the "contestants".

"Apparently, this report was fabricated by some devious individual. Shameful!"

Sorry Jetset, but that does not sound like it was fun-oriented hyping. It makes it sound as though a report was received, posted without checking, and then recanted the next week. Maybe that was part of the fun though. How would I know?

Either way, even if it is hyping things up just for the sake of fun, it is still sensationalism, nothing more. And I'm afriad that the unethical behavior and flat out lies repeatedly told by that clown at 911 has given me a very bad taste for this kind of hype. I know the meister stands head and shoulders above that other "webmaster", but at this point, I have to say something against any "news" that is fabricated purely for the purpose of getting attention, even if it is intended to get attention to a good cause like the charity event.

That is nothing against B - it is against anyone who fabricates news, especially when I know there is a common connection to that other jerk, and can see that the syle of the report is very similar. After your last post, I am assuming Caselli was in on this from the start. I certainly would hope so anyway. Well, maybe not, because then I would have to view him as a sensationalist too.

Now that the rant part of my day is over, let me go back to the sumo wrestling charity, since that seems to be the start of it all.

Looking over the web site, things are a bit unclear. For one thing, it says that it is sponsored by Golden Palace, yet the only donors listed is the $1000 that RCG put in themselves. How can Golden Palace be the sponsor if they have not even made a donation to the charity? And if Sporting Bet is receive extra coverage as being the "celebrity" bookmakers, then why haven't they made a donation?

Also, their site is not clear at all on how this is suppose to make money for charity. I was thinking maybe there would be an admission charge to raise money, but there is no mention of anything like that, so I guess not. Too bad. If everyone was wearing sumo diapers, it would be worth paying admission just to get a few candid shots of the industry folk, assuming cameras would be allowed. heh heh heh

Then I thought maybe it was the play betting money. Like, maybe you have to buy that play money to bet with, and then the dollars used for those purchases would be donated to charity. But the web site doesn't say that. It says all attendees receive play money to bet with, but does not make any mention of having to purchase these play dollars.

In fact, there is no mention there at all of how they expect this to earn money for GamCare. So, I guess that's what I'm trying to find out here. I look at that page and see lots of places having their sites plugged, but the ONLY ones I see donating anything are RCG. So, exactly how does this event work to raise money for GamCare?

It's all show anyway, so far as I can see. It's not like any of these people are really 350 pounds and capable of doing damage (and why is Sue fighting a man instead of another lady, or rather, why is Sting fighting a lady instead of another guy?) My suggestion for 2005 is to have boxing, real boxing with no punches pulled. I would get in on that in a second. Kick-boxing is out because I haven't practiced any kicks in a decade and would definitely hurt myself, but think I could still manage to throw a mean punch or two, if I had the right target to focus on (er, Costigan - lol).

Looks as if Mike Caselli can give as good as he gets, Bryan! From OCN.

QUOTE: Brian ‘Buttercup’ Bailey to take on polite industry do-gooder in the Sumo ring at Charity Gaming Event.

Former schoolgirl Brian Bailey has taken a decisive departure from his vocation as a shock-jock broadcaster of meaningless twaddle on the radio stations of the Internet’s nether-regions to engage in mortal combat with iGaming industry do-gooder Michael Caselli.

Bailey, who has changed his name to Brian ‘Buttercup’ Bailey for the match, is eager to prove that he is more than a bag of hot air. At a recent press conference held in his backyard tool shed, Buttercup Bailey boasted to an audience consisting mainly of robotic toys “I am the greatest Sumo Warrior of all time! If I don’t beat Caselli by Round Three I’ll eat a raw chicken right there in the middle of the ring. Then I’ll commit hara-kiri like the Sumo before me!” in true Muhammed Ali flair.

When a lederhosen-clad passerby attempted to point out that it was the Samuri rather than the Sumo that committed suicide after defeat, Buttercup Bailey went on to splutter a string of words that made no sense at all, but are available weekly to the listeners of his CasinoMeister radio show.

This boast comes directly after Buttercup Bailey’s failed attempt, at a recent iGaming conference in Amsterdam, to prove that Hawaiian shirts did indeed have a place in a modern society. “If Bailey’s conviction to dominate the ring is as resolute as his bad taste in shirts, Caselli may have a struggle ahead of him; despite Buttercup’s herb-induced torpor and sloth.” said a close adviser of Bailey’s who agreed only to be quoted as ‘Saddam H.’, in order to protect his identity from the backlash of one of Bailey’s long-winded and nonsensical tantrums.

Bailey’s manager and former lover, Vortran007, will be ringside despite rumors of their mutually agreed trial-separation. When questioned about the event, Vortran007 expressed grave concern for Buttercup Bailey. “When I first met Buttercup he was a picture of health – an Army Paratrooper of eleven years - but after several subsequent years surviving on a diet of pink ladies, Bacardi Breezers, penile enlargement drugs and mini Kit Kats, I am not sure his bloated frame can take the abuse of the Sumo ring.” Vortran007 continued…“I know that the well publicized loss of Buttercup Bailey’s testicles was difficult for him, but I don’t think that doing something stupid like attempting exercise is going to prove to anyone that he is still a man.”

Industry insiders are invited to watch Bailey’s trouncing live at the GIGSE conference in Toronto on May 19th.

    Ha ha ha!

A pathetic and desparate attempt to distract everyone's attention from the real issue: his fear.
