Why dont Hills pay back to M/Card??

    Hi there,

Looking for clarification on something that no one at Mastercard or William Hill CS can seem to help with, they both say its each others problem.

I started this thread in the Sportsbook forum but dont seem to be getting anywhere quick with it. So thought I would ask you in the hope that if you dont know personally, then you can maybe ask the Hills rep if theres one here.

The facts are, WH happy to take deposit with MC but not wanting to pay back to it. They say they only pay back to UK registered MC's and the system is not recognising it as one. They say speak to MC CS and see if they can shed any light on it, they couldnt. They say they accept refunds period.

So I go back to WH CS and they still wont help. Guy that replied to post in other forum says that MC dont do refunds period, but both WH and Ladbrokes say they do UK MC refunds, not intl MC refunds.

So just looking for someone official to tell me why theyre not paying back to my card. Like I said in other post, I can withdraw by cheque but it takes 14 days and I shouldnt have to, if I am depositing with same card imo

Any help appreciated. Cheers. Oh and btw I'm from Scotland and use the Bank of Scotland. So should be a UK MC imo

The problem probably lies with how Will Hill identify UK Mastercards. Reminds me of the Little Britain sketch "Computer says no...". Will Hill CS clearly have the same mentality as parodied in that sketch. Mastercard generally refuse refunds, although this might be changing, and allowing refunds to UK cards is the first step, and probably came about because of the formal regulation of the passtime by the UK Government last September.
With VISA cards, you would not have this problem, and one possible solution would be to open another account which supplies a VISA card, and use this purely for online gambling at Will Hill and others. A side benefit would be that you do not expose your main Mastercard account to internet gambling sites, so that if anything went wrong, it would not be affected.

An eWallet account would also help, and Will Hill recently started accepting Neteller, and may well accept others such as Moneybookers. Refunds would go back to these eWallets, and not by cheque.

You could also look at other sportbooks, and ask their CS in advance whether they could refund back to your specific brand of Mastercard. There is a wide choice, some accredited here at CM, and all you would need to do is see what odds they are offering on the kinds of bets you place with Will Hill.

VWM is, of course, right on the ball there.

Personally I find my Visa Debit card (Lloyds) is the easiest & fastest way to deposit/withdraw from all the UK casinos & Sportsbooks. Also as it's straight in & out of my current account, I never get any interest or transaction fees!

In the past (when I used to have credit card debts and applied for new cards to move my debts & get 0% interest for 6 months) I always used to open new Visa cards only, just so I could use them for hassle-free gambling funding!
