The Mapau casino advertises on their site with a banner that says:

"CASINOMEISTER - BEST CASINO GROUP 2001"

I thought they are in the rogue pit ?

This casino belongs/ed to the Sunny group out of Trinidad, and early this decade it was among the best run operations in Internet gambling, mainly due to an integrity driven and really good management team.

That team left for pastures greener, Sunny group became involved in a very unpleasant public spat with a software provider (it's all in the Casinomeister archives) and took part in software changes, some pretty questionable marketing and PR tactics, spamming, slow-pays and a steadily declining level of management that culminated in their classification as rogues here.

I guess the difficult legal environment that evolved in the US as one of its main markets didn't help, either but a lot depends on how well management retains its respect for its customers when it has to handle those sort of curved balls.

Always a pity to see a previously good casino spiral downwards.

Yep it's true - they were once very good, then they went to hell in a hand-basket.
