Be Wary of Jazette Enterprises Books

Just want to let perspective sports bettors know about a group of sportsbooks that are all operated by a company called Jazette Enterprises Limited. Their best known brand is probably Sportsbook(dot)com.

This company has long used a shady tactic to take free shots at players. All of their individual books offer first deposit bonuses. They do not mention it in the rules of their websites, but bettors are not permitted to take the bonus at more than one of their member sportsbooks.

They also don't tell you this when you sign on at the second book, unless you win. Then when you attempt to cash out they will notify you that you are a bonus abuser and they will take back your winnings and bonus, refund your deposit and close your account.

Note that if you lose you don't get a refund - that is what I mean when I say they take a free shot at players. If you win they don't pay you (at the second book) and if you lose, you lose.

I recommend staying away from these sportsbooks.

Does anyone know how voided winnings (from 'bonus abusers', etc.) are handled in computing payout percentages? I've suspected for a while that is one reason sites like Palace of Chumps offers 4000% percent match bonuses.

I wasn't aware Belmont was on "avoid" lists, but I ran up a $20 to $500 and am trying to cash out. Will update how this goes, for what it's worth.

I know but every forum has a different standard - if you start a new thread when other threads are in existence regarding the same topic, you are flamed and penalized for not doing a search. So you do a search, and find a topic from, say, 2006, on exactly your topic, you bump it, and you get flamed and penalized because it's an old thread.

I haven't hung out here long enough to know what the prevailing standard is - are we supposed to start a new thread after a period of time of thread inactivity, or are we supposed to search and bump old threads so as to keep threads to a minimum and information as centralized as possible?

    Just let me know.

Definitely a point that needs answering.
The 2+2 forums will ban anyone who bumps a thread that is more than 2 weeks old.

Yes, and yet, they also whine when you start a new thread on an existing topic. So you are damned if you do, and damned if you don't, no matter what choice you make. Part of why I don't bother hanging out there anymore.

That said, I'm mostly concerned if it bothers the mods here. (Otherwise, my apologies folks, but we all march to our own drummers.)

Noone is 'flaming' you - it is an annotation to let other members know that it is an old thread in case they, like me find it confusing and on occasions irrelevant sixteen months on.

Perhaps the answer would be to preface your new comment in such cases with something like "I realise that this is an old thread, but.......".

    Why?

    To add,

WHY are these "undesirable to bump" threads not LOCKED by some automated system after a certain length of time has passes. It would solve almost EVERYTHING with regard to this thorny issue - if it is locked, it CANNOT be "bumped", so differing standards between fora will not cause a dilemma for "newbies", the decision not to bump, but to start a new thread is made for them. If it it too young to be locked, then the more general standard of keeping threads to a minimum is encouraged, as an unlocked thread itself gives permission to bump if relevant, so again no dilemma.

The "search" function is not fit for purpose, it gives loads of IRRELEVANT results, and CANNOT be "tuned" to search on "phrase", or other constructs.

Try searching for "casino las vegas" as a phrase, it won't work, because you are inundated with thousands of irrelevant posts, even though you are wanting a post specifically on the casino of this name, not every damn post where someone has written "casino" somewhere in the text (which is what you get).

I no longer use "search" for this reason, I rely on memory, and page down a few pages, and if nothing seems to fit, start a new thread.
