Barack Obama - Costs Paddy Power $75,000

Would be good to hear what you guys in the US have to say.

A few weeks ago an Irish Bookmaker (Paddy Power) who are big in the UK paid out on Barack Obama to be the Democratic Presidential nominee. Here's the story:

    http://www.bettingzone.co.uk/story_g...al_123751.html

they decided to pay out on Barack after he won the Iowa vote but it seems to have backfired on them as he has since lost New Hampshire to Clinton, and now Paddy Power have him as 2nd favourite to be president (clinton 11/10 and Obama 9/4) even though they have already paid out $75,000 on him.

What do you guys make of it? 1st Female President or 1st Black President?

    BB

Paddy Power is going to eat it on this one...gawd what were they thinking, it's obvious that they don't really know the powers that be and the powers behind the scene that really run this country !

Misinfo? I've seen the slander emails where he is supposedly holding his hands in front of him, rather than over his heart, during the 'Pledge' but the fact is, it was during the National Anthem; and although others may have had their hands on their hearts in the picture, it isn't necessarily protocal to cover your heart when singing... that's a NASCAR thing I think

True, True, but they (the Neo Cons & Right Wing)all call us Conspiracy Theorists, they don't want someone with great moral standards like Ron Paul...they want someone they can control...

I'd be willing to wager against any certain percentage to be garnered by Bloomberg/field whomever. I saw on cspan yesterday where the same two creepy guys who started unity08 have now started 'draft bloomy' after subtracting themselves from unity08 (which is now wholly focused on their lawsuit against the FEC).

Florida feb5 will tell us a lot about rudyG and if the independant phenom withers and left goes left and right right after that, expect bloomy to announce, but the indecided/indy trend is keeping him away for now.

Yea man, I'm definitely looking forward to watching SC this Saturday and then Florida, should weed out a couple, it actually surprised me yesterday to see Ron Paul get 54,434 votes, way above Fred T and Rudy G and F#*#*#g Fox News still refuses to give him credit. His movement does seem to be growing though...

Hey just so you don't miss it Lojo the Florida Primary is Tue. Jan 29th

You couldn't be more wrong. Barack Obama has said the pledge many times, and has lead it in the Senate.

Stop reading Republican talking point smear emails.

Maybe he is still Muslim after all....

And while Obama may not identify as a Muslim, that's not how the Arab and Muslim Streets see it. In Arab culture and under Islamic law, if your father is a Muslim, so are you. And once a Muslim, always a Muslim. You cannot go back. In Islamic eyes, Obama is certainly a Muslim. He may think he's a Christian, but they do not.
