I have been doing some research to try and find out what is going to win the Grand National tomorrow. Found this useful site that gives you plenty of different ways to pick the winner, be it a bit of form analysis, seeing which horses go on the ground, or even silly things such as the star sign of the horse or just a plain lucky dip!
Seems there is something for everyone, for the more accomplished punters there is something about stats but I will leave that for the pros!
The site is
http://www.grand-national-guide.co.uk/ and on the basis of the information on there I have decided to have an each way bet on a horse called Simon, simple name!
How will you be backing in the Grand National?
Anyone got any good tips?
Ask my Dad what he is backing, and then ask him what he WOULD have backed before deeper analysis.
I then back those he rejects - this was a very good system when I was younger
The Grand National is a problem because of the high probability of fallers, unseated riders, etc; So analysis of form is not really any better than sticking a pin in the page.
Probably best to back an outsider or three each way who have a decent chance from the form figures, and hope the favourite(s) will be fallers.
