I don't know where you're getting dropping spam links from.
You really don't see this as SPAM? You gotta be kidding.

Your creating phony links and pointing them toward a site (not yours) to manipulate the SERP.

This is just another form of keyword dilution... a very bad type of blackhat SEO that most all sites in this business that hold good rank have to constantly battle against.

If you must use blogspot (google blogger) then assign your own domain.

Although black hatters get decent results using blogspot sub domains (till they're penalised), your not doing yourself any favours by using one.

Some free tips:
Don't use a *.blogspot.com sub domain
Stick to good content and information.
Writing 2 decent paragraphs is better than 5 that are full of garbage.
Don't keyword stuff.
Post a new blog at least 3 times a week. (Though I aim at a min of 1 a day).
Be mindful about the amount and promotional material you push on site.
Relevant textual content phrases are great anchor links. Use these (in moderation) to point to you web page(s) content on same topic (if you have it).

Follow these suggestion and you'll notice an improvement in your SERPS :-)

Cheers
T

Robwin,

If you have a website and a blog have you considered using Google Gears and migrating the content over to a wordpress blog on you r website?

I migrated ppc-managers.blogspot.com over to garythescubaguy.com in a matter of minutes.

I'd look at PR, age and other things to determine if this is a good move for you.

I'd avoid wordpress...

It's full of hacker exploits.

Here is a list of good blog software from wikipedia
# Apache Roller (Java-based)
# b2evolution (PHP/MySQL)
# blosxom (Perl)
# DotNetNuke (VB.NET/ASP.NET)
# Drupal (PHP)
# Frog CMS (PHP)
# Elgg (PHP)
# Habari (PHP)
# Jaws (PHP)
# Joomla (PHP)
# Livejournal (Perl) (Also available, developer hosted)
# LifeType (PHP)
# Movable Type (Perl)
# Nucleus CMS (PHP)
# Serendipity (PHP)
# Slash (Perl)
# Subtext (C#/ASP.NET)
# Textpattern (PHP)
# Typo (Ruby on Rails)

I would recommend, Drupal, Joomla and/or Movable Type

Should I mention that Senior members and above (this includes Webmeisters) can have their own blog here are Casinomeister?

Or do these count?

It depends on what you mean by 'count'...

To the members of Casinomeister they 'count' a lot..

However, looking just at SEO and search engine position in google... They count... just not a whole bunch.

Google has decided some time ago that in 'most cases' a blog is not "important"(according to google) unless it sits on it's own domain(or one of their's).

Notice that I am being very general. There are always exceptions, a couple of good links from a site that google trusts and just about any page or site can rank well in google.
