How does image indexing help you with your SEO ranking.

Most of you guys have noticed casino banners on almost every casino site online, here is a question I have.

I have been wondering for a while how image indexing helps your SEO ranking.

    Does anyone know?

When you place an image - the NAME of the picture or image comes up in the ranking --- AND also the ALT text that you use is also read by the engines bot.

The more keywords you have without multi duplication on your site - helps with SEO

    Well said WagerWitch.

Google indexes images differently than everything else. I would even take it a step further and create a separate xml sitemap and submit it through Webmaster Central.

Images will drive quite a bit of traffic.

I even go as far as to place the image in a folder named with my primary keyword and file all my secondary, niche and long tail keyword associated with the primary keyword in this file.

You can also hide text under the image but that's a bit black hat...but it works.

Adding an image to any page will enhance CTR and readability, which increases the time they spend on your site.

Something that many (including Casinomeister) has done is to take screen shots of winners or request screen shots from winners. Name the pic the name of the game and watch the traffic roll in. These will also convert for you.

I did actual videos of winning rolls on Blue Square a year or two ago and it worked like a charm.

    Good Luck!

I woudn't bother having images indexed as it drives to your website junk traffic of webmasters seeking images to use on their website.
In the past, when I was taking image indexing seriously I had almost 100% bounce factor in Analytics coming from Google Image ie they come and just pick up the footage they need and they go without even visiting the website and when they do it, it's even worse as they take them all.
Thay use you bandwith and steal your work.
It may be useful for some niches like porn if you use a script which redirects the user from Google Image to the page where the image belongs to.
Not a good deal IMHO for an egaming affiliate portal but I may be wrong.

    Hello Alexandre,

    Pleasure to meet you.

GaminGang is a new affiliate program, that will be released next month.
As for my affiliation, I am one of the gang

I read your post, and it was interesting, especially regarding the bounce factor on your analytics.

    Have a great day

    Bruce
