Why I wont play in poker rooms

Im not sure if this is the right Prefix or not because I dont have a complaint about a certain poker room, so with that being said, I understand if this is moved

My problem is this: I cant play in poker rooms because I believe that it wouldnt be fair. Im not saying ALL poker rooms, thats the problem, I dont know which one because the ad didnt say which one they wanted ppl to play at.

This is what i saw on Craigs list: Wanted: Online Poker players, If you want to make money by playing poker online, please contact me. Well....I of course contacted the person because I was curious. The person told me they needed someone to play poker and fold. THats all I had to do. They just wanted another body and they wanted me not to win even if I had a good hand. Then they went on to say they would credit my account after each session.

If this sort of thing is going on and to go as far as advertising for cheaters, how do I know a group of friends arnt strategically doing this? How do I know if Im playing on the up and up? The reason why I didnt find out which poker site it was because I didnt accept his offer because I wasnt sure if it was a trap. I didnt want to lose credibility just to find out where. Who knows, it could of been the poker site itself to flush out cheaters.

I feel this: The only way I would ever play poker is at a real table where I can see the people, find out there "tells" and actually hold cards in my hand. Im sure there are good poker rooms out there, the problem is, I wont ever know for sure, will I?

Most poker rooms are good, and will pick up on something like this... It's not the poker rooms that are bad, it's the players that are

If that would have been me that contacted that guy, I would have followed it through to the end, got his alias and what poker room he's talking about and then contacted the room and reported him

THats why I didnt know where to put this thread or which prefix to use because Im not complaining about the poker rooms, its the people who play in them. I feel bad for the poker rooms because they are just trying to set up a way for people who like to play and then people like this (craigs list poster) comes along and buts doubt in my head. I totally agree with you Winbig but I dont know who that person is and if I report him via folllowing through, he already has my name and information like email address ,etc. its not worth it to me. Alot of nuts are out there

I understand where you're coming from, but for me, Karma rules Even if you receive no direct benefit from it, it'll pay off in the long run.

I used to think that you were safe from the player collusion if you played at the minimum Ring tables $0.05/$0.10 Blinds... But I no longer think that.

As a matter of fact, now I think the collusion at the lower Blind tables is far worse than at the higher blind tables and is now at epidemic levels in every online poker room I play at.

It is just too easy to get a few people together and play as a team and you don't have to be a MIT alum to figure out how.

Yea, you have to figure that people are using bots or cheating at the low levels, usually because the ones that normally play at that level don't know any better to figure out what's going on...

Babs, it isn't a poker room that was going to scam you it was the player. Player tells you "just keep folding and I'll pay you" but you have to pay blinds or antes to get dealt in. If you're heads up he cleans you out and never sees you again and of course you don't get paid.

Years ago there was a scam at Absolute Poker. Their software was unable to figure out affiliate revenue. Affiliates were paid 2 cents a hand per player no matter what limit their player played. Affiliates would find players to somewhat defraud their system by offering to pay them $.01-$.015 a hand to play $.02/$.04. It wasn't a bad scam (even though I guess it wasn't really a scam since it was really just rakeback in an unusual form) if you were a micro player. It is quite possible someone has found a poker room program that pays like that but I doubt it. It's also possible someone has found a prop program or something like that where the 100%+ rakeback is more than the blinds are and he is going to kick you back a little because he needs more players to fulfill the borderline scam. I doubt it is any of those and more of a way to fleece a player but I've seen this actually work in the forms above.

Anyone know why this thread is labeled as a bogus complaint?

    Hi Bryan and poker addict

I think you guys sometimes post without reading all of the posts like I do sometimes lol. (not a cut down, sometimes we dont have time to read all of them) both of your posts were answered earlier

    1. Why its called Bogus complaint: I posted that I wasnt sure what to prefix this as. Masx doesnt name them, we have to pick one and that was the closest one I could find and said "sorry If I named the prefix wrong and you can change it if you want"

    2. I didnt blame the poker rooms pokeraddict: I said I feel bad for them because its the players that do this to the poker rooms.

My second post copied and pasted

    so true

I have seen this online, they ask you to play for them and u get paid. Why is Tiger gaming still online, I dont get it, they have players playing who dont even excist, this guy kept winning non stop with awful cards so I desided to look him up, it said there is no such person, well who the heck is he then. Do they use bots, I think they do, so do many others, cards random on tiger,I dont think so. I play at the Delta on weekends, and I always make final table, so I know I am not that bad a player, how is Tiger Gaming getting away with this crap. As for Daniel Negrenau, who I was always a big big fan of, now has his name on that site, what is with that. Does he own it, I realy hope not. So, YES, I would say there is alot more cheating going on than we know about when it comes to poker online.
