Watch out for Ken Chan's poker scam
Ken Chan's Casino Scam
I have seen a wave of new scam that been around on the Internet the last couple months selling ebook showing readers ways to cheat at online casino and poker sites. One of the most popular scams of this type is the Ken Chan's poker scam. One of his sites is: http://www.cheat-at-poker.com. Just like other "how-to-get-rich" scams, Ken Chan casts himself as a network security expert and has found ways to exploit casino systems. He sells his techniques for a $60 ebook. Unfortunately for anybody falling into this scam, his book is full of non-sense and makes me wondering his credentials of a network security expert. Here is what you will learn from the Ken Chan's ebook: 1-Ken suggests you to team up with some of your buddies to sit on the same poker table. This way, you can have an advantage of knowing more cards, therefore having a better picture of the game. -- I guess anybody playing online poker can think of this trick. However, online poker sites have developed many sophisticated ways to detect this (from playing style analysis to IP collision,...). Even though there are many ways to circumvent the technique used by poker operators, it still requires a sophisticated knowledge of poker and software security. Unfortunately, none of which are discussed by Ken Chan but non-sense blah blah. 2-Poker Pot -- While poker pot is a real threat but it also has its limit. The poker bot is as good as its algorithm. But using Poker bot also exposes a risk if being detected by the casino sites and have the poker account closed. Many poker clients do a scanning on your machine of the existent of poker bots. However, if you are a programmer, and wants to challenge yourself with writting a poker bot. You can take a look at winholdem, Gold Bullion (source code included), Poki Poker as a started learning point. However in Ken's book, all he want is scamming the readers to buy his poker bot (yes, more money) which is a sucky and buggy pot. Chan offer nothing about the inside information of developing a bot (which can be an interested subject of computer science) 3-Seeing the hole cards. -- Ken Chan claims that you can see your opponents' hole cards by hacking them. And after succesfully hacking, Ken suggests you to install VNC (a remote PC controlling program) on your opponents’ machines so you can see their screens from your machine. However, he stops short at how you can hack into your opponent's machine. Hacking is not easy, especially nowadays with most machines are firewall-ready. Ken doesn't offer anything about how to hack since he himself does not know how. And if you are interested into hacking itself, picking a hacking related book like "Hacking Exposed" is the way. Overally, his promise of seeing the hole cards is full of $hit. Ken Chan is neither a poker "know-how" or a network security expert. He is a scammer. Watch out for these types of scams since you will see them more in the future as the online gambling industry growing. If you interested in Ken's scam book and don't want to pay $60. It is available in many P2P network. |

Thats too funny Geoff
And the sad thing is that people buy this stuff. I can imagine their first hand on party. Flop 367 so they "change" their hole cards to 4 and 5. They then proceed to bet the arse out of the turn and river only to lose to AA and realise theyve been had all along.

Just a note about the poker bot pro that this guy tries to get you to buy.
I bought that poker bot the guy advertises for $200 USD not too long ago and have been trying to get a refund for almost 2 months now. It originally only worked at ultimate bet but then eventually worked at victory poker. I made play money at ultimate bet but lost real money and at victory poker I just lost my entire bankroll in that account over a period of a few days. DO NOT BUY THE POKER BOT PRO, THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR REFUNDS AND THE PRODUCT DOES NOT WORK AS IT IS ADVERTISED TO (yes it is a working bot and automatically plays for you but in doing so makes you gradually lose). Cheers and I hope I saved someone some time, money and aggravtion with the above, -Roger B. |
