Me thinks you guys may have a security issue on your end in your browser's address bar...this is the way it should look and come up when you type vegasregal directly into the address bar....

You can setup FF to search directly from what you type in the address bar. No security issues here..

here's an article about it: http://www.rakshitk.com/blog/2008/05...earch-engines/

You're the one getting the glitch then. You're supposed to be able to type directly into the address bar and it's supposed to check with Google and open the most relevant site automatically.

Apparently an affiliate has managed to get his link to trump all others.

Ronan, the fact that an affiliate got his link to trump all others is nothing new at all. I have a couple casinos that I list on my site where you can simply type in the search word for the casino name and my links will come up on the first page of the search results above the actual casino listing itself.

That is due to the way the search algorithms rate and value those listings...that's all that is.... The affiliate most likely spent more time like I have done also with a few listings, working hard on getting the best SEO in place to get those links up there on the top of the first page.

For example, type irishluckcasino (another rival) in the address bar. The search results it comes back with do NOT have any affiliate links tied to it. The results simply show affiliate sites that are promoting them.

I'm now convinced that an affiliate has found a bug in certain versions of FF.
Just try searching for vegasregal, vegasregalcasino.com/?id=303564 comes up as top search result, similarly tropicacasino.com/?id=571104 for tropicacasino. This is not a bug in FF.

I can type vegasregal directly into google on FF and IE on 2 separate machines (one is completely clean and wiped).

Both top listings in Google are the same one everyone else is seeing with id=303564

Maybe the affiliate is spamming out that specific link enough that it has more inbound links than the site itself does? That way it would rank at the top for a while until the Google engine catches it.

    Just a thought...

By bug, I meant that it was a bug in FF that would go directly to the first result that's listed in google and not the google results..
