Why Do casinos insist on ID if you deposit

Via Neteller? or Firepay? They both requires a SS# and verification process. I think if I casino denies a person withdrawal via same method that they deposit because of ID should be avoided at all cost. These people are trying any excuse to make sure you don't make a dime from them. They want us to wager any bonuses we receive 15X< on Slots. They already have the upper hand and then they want to add more fuel to the fire.

I agree, it's time something is done about casinos who demand ID when you cashout. They should either ask for ID before they accept your deposit or not ask for ID at all. Otherwise it's just a tactic to delay paying a winner.

I agree, they claim it is to avoid money laundering that they ask for ID, but if you deposit and withdraw to the same neteller account how on earth could you be money laundering?

Neteller's verification process is also in general more stringent that the casinos documentation anyway ( I should know I tried opening a $ and a £ account simultaneously to avoid currency fees but neteller were having none of it!).

Microgaming is at least partly to blame as they have included the line on the new sign-up page for "last 4 digits of SS#"

some MG casinos have made this line mandatory so I always make up the 4 digits. i suppose that could cause a problem if I hit a progressive jackpot, but I'll take my chances rather than trust them with this info.

This request for ID is a delaying tactic by some casinos not to pay your winnings. I had an experience several years ago when the casino claimed they never got my ID although I faxed and e-mailed it to them several times. They just hope you will give up after all the frustration.

To be fair though, only intercasino have asked for ID from me. Thats out of maybe 25 casinos ... so not bad. There again, 99% of those are UK bookies casinos and so a lot more credible.

I have not had to provide much verification lately. Almost exclusive net teller trx. and not pursuing to many sign up bonus.
I can fully understand the casino asking for ID for any play involving sign up bonuses, regardless of deposit method or cashin.

Interesting though I have played at GlobalPlayer for 2+ years and have moved atleast $10k to and from, but had a $110 cashin this weekend and was requested typical address verification and photo ID. I complied and quickly got the funds, though prior to this casino was not as fast as before for cashins.

Casinos also have to make sure that underage players are not playing. Another reason I have seen for asking for Id even on Neteller is that some of the casino softwares I have seen, do not block multiple accounts with the same e-mail adress for neteller.
A player could sign up with 10 different accounts all seperate names, but use the same Neteller for deposits and withdrawals, leading to bonus abuse. This would also be a small % of players, and all in all the casinos should make a deal with Neteller to not allow anyone under 21, and there should never be a reason to ask for Id.
