    Amazing NO REPLY from eCOGRA

I am absolutely amazed this has been going on all week now and we have STILL NOT heard any word from eCOGRA, don't get me wrong I am not talking about a Decision from eCOGRA but merely A STATEMENT.

All they had to do all week would just have been to issue a statement on this forum board, since the issue was raised here simply stating:

THE BOARD AT eCOGRA HAS JUST RECENTLY BECOME AWARE OF A TROUBLING SITUATION THAT HAS ARISEN REGARDING WEB PAGE CONTENT AT OUR SEAL APPROVED "JACKPOT FACTORY CASINO GROUP". WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING INTO THIS MATTER AND WILL BE ISSUING A STATEMENT/DECISION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

    SINCERELY, eCOGRA

What is so damn hard and legal about that. But not to have heard from eCOGRA all week makes me and I am sure others on this forum board very nervous about the true value of eCOGRA as a governing/regulation body for online casinos.

Hell if it were not for all of us there would be no eCOGRA because there would be no business for the online casinos, thus no business for eCOGRA.

eCOGRA please prove all the disbelivers here wrong and issue At Least a Statement TODAY, whatever little reputation you have built with the player community in your short time is definately dwindling fast. Prove to all of us Players (the real reason you are even here) that you are for real and will standup for the player community.

There is absolutely no doubt that the powers that be in Washington will here about this and be influenced in one way or the other sooner than later.

Thumbs down No Statement Form eCogra

This doesn't surprise me in the least. They are nothing but a bunch of yes people. I doubt if they ever even check up on the casinos they endorse after they get the seal. As far as I am concerned the eCogra seal of approval isn't worth the powder to blow it to hell. No crediability here folks.

    VTlady

You have become my favorite poster on this thread.

Check how on a 4 lines she said EVERYTHING that must be said about eCogra.

I said all that in 40 posts fighting with Jetset the "eCogra Groupie".

THANKS VTLADY... Apparently you know about what you are talking about.

That seal and the 100 sites campaing can go straight to .....

Honestly I hope that the today online gambler knows how to spot a good and decent business with out following seals or companies endorsing others.

People interested on the industry should be educated on how to spot the bad business and how to identify and learn to study if the site visited is a honest one.

For now, I strongly recommend everyone to keep visiting the Meister's site. This site will never stab any player or casino on the back.

I apologize in advance for not having read the whole thread.

    Jetset -

I am informed that the proper legal procedures that need to be followed in these circumstances where a withdrawal or suspension of the eCOGRA seal is contemplated, have to follow the legal procedures of English Law (where eCOGRA is based) and the principles of *natural justice* (because it is applied to companies not necessarily falling under English jurisprudence).

The following must take place before a seal can be withdrawn:

    (i) the eGAP rules are clear and unambiguous;

    (ii) a person or entity is given a chance to rectify any shortcomings or non-compliance;

(iii) the natural justice rules are followed in relation to disciplinary proceedings; and

(iv) the eGAP and natural justice rules are consistently applied on a
    case to case basis.

The three cardinal rules of natural justice are:

    1. A person or entity has the right to know the case against him. This typically requires:

. adequate notice of the allegations
. adequate notice of the hearing
. adequate notice of the procedure for determining the alleged breach(es)

    2. A person or entity must have a fair opportunity to answer the charges and
    present his own case.

    3. A person has the right to a decision from an unbiased decision-maker.
Heck, I've seen people sent to jail without this much due process!

Seriously, though, wouldn't it be great if eCOGRA required 1/10 as much "natural justice" before allowing casinos to confiscate players' funds?

    Watchdog -

After a while I got the feeling that these eCogra guys were nothing but some guys saling a logo.
As far as I know, players don't take them seriously.

I mean, it's not like you ever see anybody say, "Oh, you're having a problem? Take it to eCogra."

    CasinoMeister, yes. eCogra - no.

Which makes me wonder if this isn't a bit of a storm in a teacup.

Hands up how many of us look at the logos/seals on a casino we choose to play at, not many I guess.
Lol. Maybe eCogra a big deal to insiders. I don't know.

Hell, I thought it was eCobra, until a couple days ago.

While I am not a fan of eCOGRA, or any other self-proclaimed internal watchdog...until, and if, we finally have a truly regulated online gambling WORLD court sort of thing, I must say this...

In the end, it is the casinos' responsibility to cease and desist the unscrupulous and downright sickening marketing tactics they're employing. I don't give a rats ass what eCOGRA thinks about all of this. The casinos are using shame, fear, and greed as marketing tools. Don't play there. Don't promote them. If you are in the position, spread the word that these people are unscrupulous and evil. Or, at the very least....stupidly greedy as all hell.

    interesting

I've just been through my list of online casinos that I've opened accounts at and played at.

From the 10 I only play at 3 now the other 7 I closed my account after having some sort of problem or other.

Now from the 3 I play at I see that they do not carry the eCORGA seal, however from the 7 that I had problems at 6 have the seal!

the stats speak for themselves, so eCORGA take as long as you want any statement you may finally make will hold no weight with me.

    Angry Requirements From eCOGRAs Website

    112 RESPONSIBLE ADVERTISING AND PROMOTIONS

    OBJECTIVE:

The seal holder will ensure that players are not mislead through advertising or promotional activities, and will ensure that the terms and conditions of their promotions are followed. Advertisements for the operator’s site should not offend acceptable social or moral standards.

Jackpot Factory Group totally blew this one out of the water !

    METHODOLOGY:

eCOGRA audit panel members must use whichever methods appropriate to confirm that this objective is met. It is suggested the eCOGRA audit panel representative monitors advertising campaigns on an ad-hoc basis.

Well eCOGRA Totally dropped the ball on this one !

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    Advertising and Promotions

113.R.1 Advertising media and content as well as promotional activities shall comply with the letter and spirit of eCOGRA.

113.R.2 The placement and content of adverts shall not target those under the legal gambling age.

113.R.3 The eCOGRA seal and/or reference to any of the eCOGRA affiliates (e.g. the audit panel members) can only be used if specifically authorised by the relevant organisations.

113.R.4 Terms and conditions applicable to promotional activities shall be clearly displayed and shall not be unreasonably altered subsequent to the wagering activity.

113.R.5 Email and SMS advertising shall have a genuine unsubscribe, or opt-out, facility.

    SUGGESTED PRACTICES:

    Content

113.P.1 Operator websites should be in compliance with advertising standards and regulations applicable to the regulatory environments within which they are operating.

113.P.2 All advertising should contain factually correct information.

eCOGRA the above requirements 113.P.1 and 113.P.2 from your website are not enough to strip Jackpot Factory Groups Seal ?

AMAZING, tell us again eCOGRA why you are here and what your purpose is exactly ? Please.....

    Unbeliveable
