How do some casinos convert?

Some of the biggest players online have some very amateurish design work on their websites. These guys should have a slick professional looking image, after all the website is what converts the player or is it?

What factors do you think are most important in joining a casino?

Reputation, sign up bonuses, software provider...

Image is a very big thing in many other industries so why do some of the big casinos, poker rooms and affiliate sites have web sites (and affiliate programs) that look like they were designed in 1996 by college students?

So far, I haven't seen any casinos that didn't have decent web sites, but the web site isn't what converts me into a player... Reputation has a lot to do with it! How good is their CS? How fast do they pay your Neteller or Firepay account when you cash out? How large is their bonus and attached WR? The web site is only a portal
to download software.

A lot of colleagues of mine are serious designers so maybe some of their passing commentary on a lot of casino artwork has rubbed off on me.

I have experienced that with bookies but bot so with Casinos.

A well Casino WILL have a good website but NOT all good-looking Casinos will have a serious service!
