Sure the parents probably needed the money, but I can guarantee you that the $15,000 MIGHT make a dent in this child's therapy bills over their lifetime....really doubt it though.

My maiden name is Mustard. If I were living in the UK, this would probably not be all that unusual. However, living in the US and being a Navy brat (moved a lot) my first 17 years gave folks many opportunities to comment about the name Mustard. I have heard all of the jokes and comments, so please don't try to be clever about it. However, in the final analysis and after 50 years or so of thinking about it, the unusual (and funny) name Mustard has been a great asset. Probably no one has forgotten my last name ever! Let's hope that Golden Palace Silverstein is so lucky.

It's great that you see it that way now. But for a baby to be named after a rogue casino with shady advertising practices, I seriously doubt it. I just wonder if the child can change his name after he turns 18 or not.

For what it's worth (and I know absolutely nothing about Golden Palace) - I reckon "Golden" is a pretty cool first name... You don't have to tell anyone about the palace.com... Bring it on.

Golden Palace have put up money for a child to have a name which can easily lead to a whole host of problems with its peers when it gets to school age. Think for a moment about the amount of roll-calling that goes on in school, registers, sports teams and all. They'll pick up on that and run with it - unfortunately. The child itself is in no position to do anything about this until its old enough to handle matters like this of its own volition.

But hey, let's not bother about that: let's focus on another opportunity to talk up 32Red.

Jeeze, Caruso. Lighten up a little, eh? I'm sure this will back-fire on GP, and will be a topic at the upcoming GIGSE.

Food for thought, something like this is illegal in Germany. You cannot name a baby any name. It has to be a "real" name. My son has a Hawaiian middle name (Keanu) and I had to prove the name was real with documents before they filled out the Birth Certificate.
