Anybody who wants to replicate this, please feel free to do so and share your results with us.

1. Run your antivirus to scrub your computer ( I used Norton)
2. Download and install AdAware. It's free.
3. Run Adaware. Delete all your marketing buggies.
4. Run Adaware again.
5. Go to riverbelle.com. Download, register, and install the software.
6. Exit the casino software.
7. Close your browser window.
8. Perform smartscan with Adaware.

There you go! 39 cookies, some labeled Alexa, some Microgaming in the summary screen Heck, I didn't fill out 39 list boxes in the registration screens.

I repeated this experiment, but did not fill out the registration fields and did not finish the install. Without finishing the install, there's only one Microgaming cookie on my machine. The act of registering and installing the software appears to unpack a load of critters that I didn't know I was going to get as opposed to just visiting the web site.

The same experiment with Playtech's Sky King did not leave anything on my machine.

Mary you're not losing your mind. Not that I ever got the impression that you thought you might be. Here's what happened to me: my poor 6 yr old Windows 98 computer was bogging down all over creation. Tired of trial software with limited features I purchased Spysweeper, an irreplaceable tool for me, now, and ran it. The results were 3996 traces (on a PC never swept for adware type stuff). Of those 3996 traces 3277 OF THEM WERE MICROGAMING BASED! I had intended to email Bryan privately in case I was way off base or missing something obvious. Microgaming is HUGE. But some experimentation proved true. Spyware, adware, just short of malware, certainly no unsavory viruses. To their credit, if any is to be given, i also do not recall any evidence of those nasty hijacking search engines that redirect redirect redirect your a** all over creation. Frankly, if Microgaming employs spyware in order to better gauge my needs as their "valued customer", and they respond appropriately, then I really have no issue. But this onslaught of well over 3200 hits! Come ON! At some point even the lamest marketeer has heard of The Law of Diminishing Returns. If you go for overkill at this level, Microgaming, you'll wind up bogging down your players computers to the point where they will be unable to play that software hog better known as "Viper". Bryan? Does this not warrant some investigation? Or is this can o' worms so big it's better off left buried in the backyard? For my money, literally and figuratively, play the Playtech software sites. When you're lucky it's phenomenally lucky. The customer service is fast and first rate and the payouts are about as free of redtape as is prudent for the industry. Good luck, and good gaming, guys!
