    Mac Users

    Casinomeister,
First of all, I want to thank you for providing a great service. I just discovered this site, and I wish I'd known about it last year before I lost money at Roman Casino and Casino On Air. I suspected something was fishy with COA, and now I wish I'd read your site first, before playing there.

The reason I picked those two casinos is that they are practically the only casinos I've found that are Mac compatible. Two other casinos, PlanetLuck and StarLuck are also Mac compatible, but I don't know anything else about them, so I'm reluctant to play there. Do you have any info on these casinos? The only other Mac compatible casino I've found is Apuestas. This is a Spanish-only site, but it's not difficult to figure out the games even if, like me, you don't speak Spanish. It doesn't work on Explorer, but I can play using my Apple Safari browser. I've only played there once, so I have no real opinion of the site yet, but it seems ok. One thing that makes Apuestas different is they offer 10 cent blackjack. Sites that claim that their Java games work on Mac, don't. I'm told by the casinos that I don't have Java, even though it comes integrated in the OS X operating system and I have no problems with other, non casino, websites that require Java.

If I can think of one suggestion that would make your site better for us Mac users, it would be to provide a list of Mac friendly casinos. Can you recommend any online casinos that accept Mac users? I've tried many of your recommended casinos, such as 32red and AllJackpots, but I can't play on them. Keep up the good work, Casinomeister. Thanks.

You shouldn't play any of the IGlobal sites (such as starluck and planetluck). They used to have dodgy software that cheated thousands of players.

I thought that all the Microgaming sites should work with Macs because they also have Macromedia Flash software casinos. Don't the Flash casinos work? There is Flash for Macs so it probably should work.

As I said, I'm always told that I don't have Flash installed. The problem is, Mac's OSX comes with the latest version of flash incorporated into it. Because of this, the Flash download page has no download available for Mac's OSX, only for the older operating systems. Also, I have problems only on casino sites, not other sites that require Flash. Apuesta's customer support told me I don't have Flash installed but, even though I can't play their games using Explorer, I can access them fine using my Mac's Safari browser. Other sites don't work, no matter which browser I use. I don't know if the sites I've tried are Microgaming. I'll search out a few of those and try again.

Also, thanks for your advice on IGlobal sites!

Actually, I was mistaken. It was Apueatas that said I didn't have Java, even though I did.Other casinos are telling me my problem is I don't have Flash. I thought something may be wrong with the Flash I have so I redownloaded and installed Flash 7, but it didn't solve the problem I tried 32red and All Jackpots, both Microgaming sites. Casinomeister, have you had any other Mac users contact you with this problem?

    Mac OS compatible casinos

There's a fairly extensive list of Mac OS compatible casinos here:

Thanks, I'll check it out. And by the way, I haven't tried a Windows emulator. Maybe I'll look into it, but I've heard they're really slow.

I discovered Aus Vegas casino works with Mac, but it's very slow.

Microgaming flash casinos are not really cross plataform compatible.

Sometime ago I discussed this issue with some webmasters, because of Firefox browser. Flash is supposed to work on firefox and on mac but try it and you'll see. I don't know why, but Microgaming uses an ActiveX command to launch the flash casino. This means that you'll not be able to play the casino, not because of flash itself, but because of this ActiveX command. This is very stupid and it's a Microgaming issue.

Try Net Entertainment Casinos, like Cherry (listed here as an accredited casino) and you will not have any problems.

    Macintosh Compatibility

I am a dedicated mac user (why drive a Yugo when a Ferrari is avaiable) and the problem, as you probably know, is that there aren't enough of us to justify investing in the development of compatible software. That and the paradox of the macintosh computer: actually the most intuitive and functional OS in existence, it might as well be rocket science to most programmers and coders who are essentially incapable of thinking outside the box and comprehending anything other than what they've been taught and worse, terrified of trying anything different than what they are accustomed to.
