About this multiple account thing

Here is a typical clause:

"Customers are entitled to one account only per person, family, household address, email address, computer, and credit card number, on environments where computers are shared (university, fraternity, school, public library, workplace, etc.)."

Now. I come from a family of gamblers. We even have family reunions in Las Vegas. My son is a much better poker player than me and spends his time in the poker rooms. But my daughter plays online a bit. So far only one casino as far as I know, but how would I know.

She lives in a different city but same geographic area. Has been on her own for close to 10 years. I have no control over her at all. Am I bonus abuser because we have accounts at the same casino? Or because she is living on her own and is an adult is she not part of my immediate family. What is family - is 2nd cousin your family?

Common sense prevails, the answer is "no" you are not an abuser. Clauses like this are only addressing problems stemming from Joe Blow opening an account with a bonus, then his wife, kids, in-laws, and everyone except his brother opening an account off of the same computer, or linked computers (networked) or in the same household. Think about it, what is stopping someone to make up all of these people - yet it's the same guy.

The casino is merely protecting itself. When in doubt, contact the casino beforehand to make sure whatever you or your spouse/family members are doing is legit.

Standford, My sister and I stay in the same home , most of the time, if i am not around traveling.

Her name is Devlyn Dunlap, I told her before she download any casino, lets ask them. Breakaway said no problem. We told them she would not play with no bonus, and they let her open account. But they keep sending her them bonus coupons and i have to tell her not to touch them.

I think if you ask before hand, most casinos would let you, and to be safe leave the bonus alone , no matter what they say

Well that's the problem. My kids are not nanny kids. One will sit for her CPA exam and the other is an engineer and both are highly independent. I would not for sure know and I don't get referral bonuses. These guys worked to pay for their own education.

Many only specify "household" and so I am unconcerned nor would a common sense meaning be an issue. They really are not part of my immediate family in the sense you will find them on my tax return. I can tell them to watch out but I can't control what they do. So far they have only wet their beak in the online casino world but in all this discussion of "mulitple accounts", it made me wonder.

Right now I have a neighbor that I am reluctant to show online gaming just because I am afraid our addresses will get me in dutch. So she drives 3 hours to go to a casino or hits the bingo rooms.

We have never had a problem letting two players or more have seperate accounts on the same computer. We do ask to see seperate Id's for each account though before they are opened. When it is legitamate , there is no problem for all the accounts to redeem bonuses, free chips and such. One thing is that we do not have live action where if you had a number of players all playing from the same place they could manipulate the game as in poker. And to further stress what Bryan said, player abuse does run rampent. Yesterday I closed a players account after finding out she has opened over 350 accounts for free chip bonuses. She finally won this time is the reason we checked the account. She had the gall to say" if you were not going to pay me why did you let me open all of those accounts, there is no difference because I never cashed out"

If she managed to play 350 accounts before getting a win you should have offered her the most generous deposit bonus you could come up with on all of the accounts. A customer that incompetent would be priceless if you could persuade her to deposit

So did she use a different name, address each time or what? I am quite surprise otherwise that for example John Doe living at Any Street can open 350 accounts. So is your computer system totally dumb or what? It doesn't automatically detect matching names and addresses? Who wrote the software?

From my childhood in the 70s, one of my 'whizzkid' mates told me that address and name matching programs were easy to outwit, maybe harder now though. He manipulated his middle name, changing either the initial, spelling, or adding a second middle name. the middle name is often not fully recorded for identity purposes, apart from the first initial of the first middle name. A name match would check the name string for an exact match, so 'Joe Fred Bloggs' would be seen as different from 'Joe Fredd Bloggs' or 'Joe Fredd E Bloggs'. Likely they would be seen as brothers, which as the rep above stated, is quite legit. If a different deposit method was used for each account, with a different E-mail, then this check would not throw up a warning. Dial-up connection, redialling each login, would give a different IP address each time. Only when a human looks into things, usually at an audit for a cash-out, is this abuse obvious, and 350 people living at the same house, be they brothers or sisters or not, would look really odd. Whenever software is altered to counteract a form of abuse/bug, another abuse/bug is found - look at Microsoft Windows!!
