Casino "Awards"

Hi all

I stumbled across the GOM "casino awards" at gambling.com and it sparked a question. I assume from the fact that i have also had a couple of emails from casinos offering cash draws to vote for them that this is a reletaively prestigious award. However, from experience there are two types of Awards: those that simply award based on the traffic sentover (ie: "click here to vote for us") and those that go before a panel for judging.

To me the first type is meaningless and anyone could win regardless of how good the site actually is. Its very open to scamming. The second one makes more sense as the site/casino etc is judged on actual quality.

Which one is GOM and are there any that base themselves on quality rather than amount of votes?

GOM is a good publication - however the voting is open to all and thus your first scenario was correct. However, they also add some Editor's Choice awards which are picked on criteria determine solely by GOM management, which probably meet your other criteria.
