32 Red, it's been nice knowing you :(

Well, here we go, after my thread about the All Jackpots email, one has just come in from 32 Red.

They are letting me know that from Friday 10th February, Spanish IP addresses will be blocked by their 'software provider', so maybe this is why I had the abrupt email from All Jackpots today? Seems it could be MG forcing operators hands on this matter.

32 Red however, do soften the blow by saying they have enjoyed offering gambling services to Spanish players and that they look forward to the day when they can do so again

It's a dark day for sure...

Losing 32 Red is going to be the hardest one I think.

Good god,bad day for you- I feel for you.

If I wasn't able to play at 32Red I'd probably quit gambling online tbh.

This moves the blame firmly to MGS in terms of keeping this a secret right till the last possible moment. 32Red would not want to take the blame for such a move, and would not want to be accused of shutting players out by a surprise overnight move.

MGS need to be asked why the undignified haste, and lack of notice to operators. This move has been in the pipeline for a long time, and all it needed was for MGS to set a date well in advance, and tell operators to ensure that players' accounts were closed out in a dignified manner as befits the brand.

Their failure seems to suggest that they were engaged in "Russian Roulette" with the Spanish lawmakers, and were holding off in the hope they would back down and allow MGS to continue operating there in a seamless manner. It didn't work out, and MGS "got the bullet" and had to resort to an undignified knee-jerk scramble to develop and implement IP blocking for Spanish IP addresses. They have already developed the software because they had to when Kentucky threatened to seize their domain if they didn't find a way to ensure Kentucky residents could not play on the software. All they needed was to add Spanish IP addresses.

This weekend will probably see players from countries bordering on Spain complaining that they can't log on to their accounts all of a sudden, and it will be down to their connection having been routed via a Spanish IP address. Portuguese players will be particularly vulnerable, as I expect French players have already lost access to many operators. Any players on Gibraltar are almost certain to find MGS casinos don't work.

CS will have to deal with this over a weekend.

That is muy malo! As the market closes off to the Spanish, I think you'll be seeing more of this- and then the same sort of thing that happened in the states. :/

Does anyone feel like the Online Casino world is heading into the 'Wild West'... or back into it?

At least they said they really appreciated your business. That leads me to believe they'll work on being licensed, if possible, in Spain.
At least, I hope for you that is the case! It really blow to lose access forever to 32red.

    .

I can understand that this sucks, you have my sympathy . But one should also remember that it is a good thing that casinos are pulling out of markets where they do not have a license. The tendency is quite clear, reputable casinos will respect regulated markets.
