Actually I would guess that MG and other providers do release a game with a slightly better RTP then lower it. Seems logical to do that and not a lot different to land-based casinos putting machines with higher RTPs near the entrance etc.
However, I reckon the RTPs the games revert too after a period are still decent (and better than land based). For example, Thunderstruck II will probably be around 96.65% and Thunderstruck around 96.00% wherever you play.
I've actually found the opposite is true in my case at least. MG releases a new game and I try it and get slaughtered. Once it cools off a bit for everyone else, I can usually squeeze a few wins out.
