Regarding the terms I will make that suggestion so that the terms reflect that although we hold the right to request it, it is not something we commonly request unless there are doubts regarding the previously requested documentation.

The terms are more detailed than most, but are a good description of what players actually end up getting asked for.

Unfortunately, a few countries do not issue any form of internal photo ID as routine, so this will put off quite a few players, although this is better than them depositing and THEN finding their country is one of those like the UK that don't routinely issue photo ID. This means players have to seek out and obtain photo ID for the first time when they make their first online casino withdrawal, and this can take weeks, even months. This makes players think that they are being screwed because they are being asked for something "exceptional" in terms of what is used in their country, even though it is routine in most countries to automatically have a photo ID from leaving school.

Despite the clarity in this term, it will still catch out those players who don't bother to read them.

yes ..thats a problem i have had...i dont drive or have a passport..which are the 2 forms of accpeted photo ID in the uk

i had a real battle with a MG casino earlier in year..they asked for the normal ID...i sent copy of my bank card i used..bank statement..utility bill..council tax bill...birth certificate..they messaged me back asking for a photo ID..i said i dont drive or have a passport and the UK has no photo ID..

they responded with who does not drive or have at least a passport..i replied with someone who is disabled and has no need for them...it took nearly 3 weeks to get money out of them i even had to resend the docs in colour as they said black and white was not accpetable..needless to say ive not played there since....

i dont understand why all casinos dont do there own checks like 32red do..32red never asked me for docs as they were able to verify me through there own processes...

This is the root of the problem. They don't have a clue about the REAL world for ORDINARY people, like their customers. THEY probably have all these documents because they run a business, have a need to travel to conferences, even between their various sites as their CS will be in one country, their servers in another, and their registered HQ in a third. "Car culture" also varies between countries, with many having one in the USA, and few in countries considered to be "developing".

The internet, for users, requires no travel other than from the bed to the PC, and it is for this convenience that many use it for commerce.

You would also be one customer who is NOT welcome at Spinwin, as you would have serious problems in getting paid - yet they sent you marketing. Good job you are one of those players that DO read the terms before parting with your money.

I have yet to hear from an operator a valid reason for needing a photo, since no casino software currently offers live video link between player and dealer, so they don't even need to ID you in a face to face context. They need to verify your details match, and this does not need a photo, just verifiable documentation.

Notarized documents is a good way to verify a player.

Of course casinos requesting it have to pay the costs of it up front, anything else is scamming.

    Smile Photo Ids

Happy New Year everyone! 2012 has arrived and hopefully filled with good things for everyone

Regarding the photo ID to be honest I had no idea they didn't issue one in every country, I always assumed it was something standardized all over the world.
The photo ID has always been a way to correlate the face with the age and attributes featured on the documents, and although it is not necessarily something we can verify right away, it may be requested by authorities that we present copies of those documents.
It is not something we make up not to pay players, it is something required of us by various entities and license grantors. Almost all if not all reputable casinos require this to cash out on large winnings and although I understand it may be troublesome for some players who do not have a photo ID, it is not something that is dependent on our will to change it. For example if a player does not hold a valid photo ID, the notarized copy of valid documentation could step in as a substitute, guaranteeing and validating the person’s identity.

Even Casinomeister points out its importance here http://www.casinomeister.com/casino-...s-security.php

As per the notarized documents I explained before it’s not something we ask every day, only if we suspect a problem or in the case of a very high win to protect the player.

    Take care everyone,
    Monica
