    RTG Feature Guarantee Error

    Hi Gang

I had an experience at a new casino whilst playing a bonus on a feature guarantee game.

    The short version is:

    1. I started with $25
    2. Bet 60c all the way (50+10)
    3. Balance was 1.17 with 105 (approx) spins to go until feature
    4. Last spin took balance to .57c....

.....and the feature guarantee had reset to 150 spins.

My recollection of these games whilst playing a bonus, is that when you reach $1 or less, a pop-up displays explaining that the spins will be reset and would you like to play the feature guarantee now. However, I did not receive any pop-up at all like I was expecting and thus lost all my progress.

The question is.....am I wrong? Did I get mixed up or something?

I have had a back and forth discussion with support and they told me initially:

please make sure you trigger that before your balance goes down to below the bet amount.

Now, I thought that was the whole idea of the pop-up i.e. so this didn't happen.

Anyway, they sent me a screenie of the popup which says:

"If your casino balance drops to $0.00 or less, while you have wagering requirements remaining, accumulated spins are lost. You currently have accumulated spins for $xx and $xx bet per line. Do you want to attempt the feature guarantee for $xx bet per line? YES/NO"

Here, I think, may be the problem. I'm sure that other FG games say "$1.00 or less" not "$0.00 or less", and if this is the error, it would explain why I did not receive a popup i.e. I did not reach zero. My understanding of why the rule was implemented is because most RTG's convert the bonus balance to "withdrawable" when you dip below $1.00, and if you were allowed to play to less than $1 and then trigger the feature, any winnings would be issued as real cash instead of bonus (like they should since they were earned with a bonus).

It just makes no sense to be "0.00 or less" any way....how do you go less than zero?

My conclusion is that the trigger level limit has been set incorrectly i.e. it should be $1 or less not $0 or less. It would explain why the popup did not occur, as if my balance became cash when I reached .57 then I would no longer be playing with a bonus and hence would not receive a pop-up. It is likely (IMO) that the popup trigger limit has been set to $0 but the actual trigger limit has been set to $1 or less. In this case, I would lose my spins because I went below $1 but not get the popup because my balance had not reached zero.

    Follow?

Anyway, some opinions would be great!

If I am wrong that's cool, but I really do think something is wrong with the game setup (it was a brand new game only hours old btw).

The casino in question gave me $10 which was nice, but have denied there is a problem, but I'm determined to confirm one way or the other because some other newbies or unsuspecting players might not even realise they lost their spins i.e they'll think its their fault and move on.

There was a pop up saying, you need trigger the wheel when you have WR remaining.
I do remember that when I still played at RTG. You can not re-deposit because the WR.
If you do not play it and leave the game, then all gone.
However, if you do not have WR (not playing with bonus), the game allows you re-deposit and remember your position.

This is how I remembered the feature Guarantee. However, I believe this is the worst invention of RTG.
Never had decent win over these slots and 2 maybe 3 times I had 80+ % chances still not get the free spin.

    Cheers

Afaicr if you are playing $1 or above it warns you, but at .25 .50 .75 it doesn`t, and you think you are safe for another spin or two, and boom - it resets, but it`s been a long, long time since I played at RTG.

There's probably some sort of reset on a changed bet size because otherwise you could bet minimum all the way through until the feature is ready to pop and then jack up your bet. I've never played right to the end like you did so I'm not sure - but I know if you're playing with a bonus and you exit the game, then the popup comes up.

EDIT: Nifty, you were playing with a bonus, right?

From my experience, Nifty you are EXACTLY correct and it seems the 0.00 is an error indeed. I have never seen it written that way.
I am a low roller and have always gotten the pop up when either my balance was getting too low, I was raising/lowering my bet or I was trying to leave the game altogether.

I dont understand the need for a pop-up when playing with a bonus. It's a no-brainer really as you dont even need to choose because if you dont trigger the wheel your accumulated spins towards the feature will be lost and you cant inject extra funds. In Mice Dice the side bet for the FG is compulsory so why not have it the other way ie triggering of the wheel is automatic once the balance reaches $1.00 or whatever it is.

Why design a game with all these ways to annoy the player. Many RTG operators do a good job of this already. A simple compulsory auto triggering should have been incorporated so that NO player would lose out because they had missed the popup, or a software error had failed to display it.

How come Microgaming don't feel a need for all this messing around, and can give us straight forward games of this type that simply preserve last known state between sessions.

It's like saying "if I see you drop a tenner, I will at least warn you before I steal it, but if you don't hear, or ignore me, I will not repeat myself, I'll just take your tenner".
