FYI Dogboy is investigating this today but he thinks I'm right on the money I.e. it is a game error.

    Stay tuned.

    Update!

It's confirmed as an error that needs to be fixed.

The popup should activate if the balance is about to fall below $1 NOT zero, so what I said was correct.

Hopefully the casino involved (Buzzluck) will announce when the error has been rectified.

FYI the game is The Champ

    Nuworks is RTG.

It's exactly the same feature carried across both softwares.

Why not get rid of this confiscation aspect altogether, it is clearly the cause of a few errors. A fair game does NOT confiscate part of the RTP simply because the player has run out of money. I see Cryptologic (Intercasino) have started doing this kind of thing, and it needs to be nipped in the bud, rather than be allowed to become common practice. Microgaming was first to develop this knid of game, and they had NONE of this kind of chicanery. They worked like all the rest. Any progress on a collection towards a feature is preserved between sessions, no ifs, no buts.

    Yes.

The only reason it is implemented, and only whilst using a bonus, is because most RTG bonuses convert to cash when the balance falls below $1 regardless of WR being met.

Of course, we can see how this could be manipulated by the unscrupulous, as if the feature is triggered below $1 all the winnings would be cash instead of bonus. It's a little like the frozen assets scam a while back.

The simple answer would be to remove the below $1 bonus release process and maintain the bonus balance right through to zero. I notice some casinos do this, whilst others don't so it is obviously an optional customization for the operators.

If not using a bonus, I believe the spins progress saves indefinitely.

It's a darn good thing that dogboy was around, as I was getting nowhere with support and it was only forwarded up the chain in my 4th email when I specifically requested it. I want to clarify that I didnt expect support reps to resolve it, as it is obviously a software error, but by the same token, since I was suggesting that it was a software error, it should have been passed immediately to management.

As it stands, dogboy sent it straight to the RTG people to get sorted. I'm certain others may have been affected, especially if they didn't know how the game was supposed to work.

So, thanks and kudos once again to the dogmeister!

i play these games a lot. mostly mice dice. when down to my last bet a pop up always apears asking me if i want to spin for my feature. if you lower or raise your bet then you dont get the spin at all. it will reset. there is a setting when loging into mice dice where you can choose a option before you even start to play the game. the option of having a pop up apear or not. thats been my experince anyway.

Yep, saved at whatever bet denomination for whenever you decide to go back.

Interesting coding error. I've had the popups a few times but must have never ran the balance low enough for a problem.

Microgaming has a better system than this. If any triggerable feature is left, even with a zero balance, the bonus tracker does NOT reset. If another deposit is made and another bonus claimed, the remaining WR from the old is added on to the new.

RTG doesn't allow another coupon to be claimed until the existing one has been cleared.

Since there is no choice other than to take the feature chance when the balance dips below $1, why not make it compulsory, and get rid of the need for the player to opt in via a pop-up.

On balance, the Microgaming implementation for this type of game is better. Microgaming also never had a game like Frozen Assets that allowed a known payout to accumulate to be triggered on demand. The Frozen Assets method must have scared RTG into being overly draconian, especially since it ran for so long before being spotted. I also think it would have run even longer had it not been posted by New Orleans a short while before RTG pulled this type of game from the software, a post no doubt read by many RTG casino reps.
