    Dangerous Question(?) You’ve Be Warned

*disclaimer* I’m in NO way recommending anyone should play at the following casino. I know my question might lead to people questioning why I play there.

*insert best joker voice* Why so serious?

    K, now question:

At Diamond VIP I’ve noticed most (if not all) of their video slot bonus games are “pick” based. Meaning when you achieve a bonus round on the slot you are taken to a screen where you choose between multiple prizes without knowing the value until you pick. Do those choices matter?

For example I know with McDonald's monopoly (side) game when you enter your codes online for a chance to win it lets you know no matter what you choose it doesn’t affect the outcome of the win. So if I choose to scratch off the middle card I would win or lose the same as if I scratch off any of the others.

I spend a LOT of time trying to decide what options to choose when I’m playing in the bonus rounds at Diamond VIP and it drives me insane. I love playing the games I just don't know how to pick. I pick the one on the left: Pop you won 20 points. Then it shows the other two: 300 points, 500 points.

Should I just pick whatever as the outcome is already predetermined? Or should I choose carefully?

The outcome is predetermined, yes, so your "pick" doesn't matter.
It's a great way to make your customers feel like donkeys tho, because 9 times out of 10, you can make it look like they picked the wrong one. Sometimes make you wonder how stupid, or unlucky one can be, doesn't it ? lol
    Can you tell....I hate "picking"

Something was telling me that I was wasting time trying to choose carefully . Yea I hate "picking" as well. Just give me what I won. It reminds me of the slot machines that make all that noise and lights are going crazy, then I looked down in excitement to see I only won double my bet

I do enjoy playing there and love their games though. Just wish there was another setup for the bonus rounds.

I was wondering if the same applies to MG casino?? I don't play topgame but RTG for example feels very fake (predetermined) but MG and PT software more random to me. Or is it just my perception?
    Who took my money ??

It's funny I posted this thread today. I just (finally) played a complete song on the Mad Orchestra slot at DiamondVIP. I noticed I was getting a lot of keys correct. Only one broke on me. Sooooo sweet:

There are two ways that a pick-em feature can work.

    1. The system has decided (hopefully in a fair and random fashion) that you won 'x' amount and your selections don't affect anything
    2. The system can let you pick from items 1-n and assign a (hopefully fair and) random value to the prize

Either one could be created in a fair or unfair manner, so it still comes down to who you trust your deposits with.

The one thing that can be bad is when the game is created as in example #1 and then they show you values that could not have been won. I find that to be dishonest and misleading and hope that the providers I trust aren't doing that.

I recall Louise of Rushmore stating the outcome was pre-determined (for rtg slots). I have no problem with that but if this is true for Rival then they are trying to mislead us. In Hobo's Hoard, for example, they state that each pick has a different amount which seems to indicate your choice does matter.

The one that comes to mind for me is Stars & Bars? (it's been so long not sure that's the name) at microgaming. At first I hated having to pick on the bonus as it was always 5 bucks or 500 and I always chose wrong but then I started paying attention to where the larger amount was placed and would usually get the higher amount on the second try. I'd like to think it wasn't predetermined and I'd really love to play it again. sigh......
