    Charity Casinos?

I was wondering if there are any online casinos out there that are run strictly by a charitable organization, that donate all of the profits to charities. I did a Google search and just came up with crap affiliate link pages that have nothing to do with charity. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There's one that I've played at for many years. Not really a casino per say, but an online lotto site that donates to the Red Cross/Red Crescent.

They can't possibly give all to charities. They still have to pay winnings!
If "charity casino" was one word, then it would be an oxymoron!

I think technically profits would be after winnings are paid, so in theory they could give all of their profits to charity but not all of their revenues. Unlikely though.

Come on, you know what I mean. Im talking about a not for profit casino, which after paying out all winnings, all administration costs and overhead donates the profits to charity, instead of 5% or 10% to charity. 100% of all profit.

Any casino claiming donating the entire profit to charity would probably be lying. Or they would pull out some fat checks before calculating the "profit".

A couple of years ago we had BlackRhino that claimed to help endangered species. They happened to be one themself - and vanished owing 25K to a friend of mine.

Thats disgusting, to hide behind a good cause like that. But it does happen and a lot of charitable organizations out there are questionable. What I was thinking, would be a casino run by a large charitable corporation such as World Vision, or Unicef. I wonder why none of these big charitable corporations have not used this idea, they could raise a lot of funds. jyde, would you trust that they donated all profits to charity if it was a large, reputable charity that ran it? And if it was honest, would you play there more over a regular online casino based on that fact?

I wouldn't care if it was run by Mother Theresa (when she was alive).

Of course I would trust they actually donated money if it was a reputable organisation and financial reports were public and audited by PwC or one of the other wellknown accounting firm.

However I find it difficult to believe organisations like the ones you mention would get involved in gambling. Would cause an imageproblem - especially in USA (home of the free) and in the Middleeast (home of the not so free that aren't allowed to gamble). Can you in your wildest dreams imagine UN running a casino??

LMAO! Yeah I could, but the profits would NEVER make it to the charity!
