I've made the same mistake as you mentioned a few times, and now I would have forced myself to cash out at $200 in that situation. Just keep telling yourself you're more likely to lose it all than get back to $260 if you keep going, and cashing out 10x your deposit ain't so bad.

Usually when I get over the threshold that I set, and I haven't had too many beers, I'll cash out what I want and leave some to keep playing.

What do you guys do cashout every time you play? sounds like it. whats a threshold?

Boy you guys sound very disciplined...I usually deposit at least 50..00, typically will not take a bonus..I will never cashout below 200.00 and only then when I am behaving..I typically try to get to at 300.00 or so take out 200.00 then play with the remaining 100.00..Of course I have gotten up to 300.00 and being the slot junkie I am, I am sure I will be able to get it up to 500.00 and procede to watch it all disappear...

    thresh·old noun \ˈthresh-ˌhōld, ˈthre-ˌshōld\
    Definition of THRESHOLD

    1
: the plank, stone, or piece of timber that lies under a door : sill
    2
    a : gate, door
b (1) : end, boundary; specifically : the end of a runway (2) : the place or point of entering or beginning : outset <on the threshold of a new age>
    3
a : the point at which a physiological or psychological effect begins to be produced <has a high threshold for pain>
b : a level, point, or value above which something is true or will take place and below which it is not or will not

Also, I just checked my stats; besides 3dice, where I won a RJP, I have zero cashouts that were not max cashout situtations in this lovely year, 2011. I think I need to only enter max cashout situations. For reals.

@Weplant: don;t feel bad, add zeros to ur numbers, and I have done that many times just in the past year... I also have had huge hits as a result, but all in all, knowing when to say when is the casinos best friend. Besides these disciplined posts from seasoned gamblers here at CM, I know few ppl who can constistently avoid the betrayal of their predetermined thresholds. From time to time we all let one go that was on the hook! Chin Up! 3mpty Out!

I tend to go for a decent run, rather than cash out small gains. I keep in mind a "floor" value, and consider that reaching this means my lucky streak is over, and I cash out, and ALL OF IT. I do NOT return & reverse, and if I feel like some more play, it happens in a DIFFERENT casino, and from a fresh deposit.

I had a run back to £4400 at Grand Mondial a couple of days ago, and it is reversible all weekend, but this will NOT be happening. I have £800 left in my Neteller, and this is the ONLY funds available until my £4400 gets paid, most likely on Tuesday.

Until then, this £800 will be all that is available should I feel like having another go, and it will be deposited anywhere BUT Grand Mondial.

Yep I'm like Weplant. I tend to desposit between $50 and $100 (depending how rich I am at the time ). I tend to start thinking of withdrawing at the $300.00 mark. Like Weplant says I will likely withdraw $250 - 300 but leave some in for further gambling. Sometimes it works (I'll win a bit more and hit the threshold again). Other times I lose and reverse some (or all) of my withdrawal (),
