Playtech passed out my phone number

Well this one threw me for a loop. Few days ago i downloaded a playtech casino and deposited and played. I had to at that time update any info that changed. The only thing that did was my phone number. Next day I get this email.
    24 hours remaining only …

    Hi Laura,

We tried to call you but without success unfortunately , we have a huge surprise waiting for you , this surprise will disappear in the next 24 hours, come online as soon as you see this email.

To enjoy this HUGE surprise, here are two possibilities:
you can either login directly to the casino from your desktop by clicking on the Casino icon or you can download again the casino from the following link:

Now this is not the casino I had deposited in. And there is no way they are affiliated with the casino i did play at. So I take it they pass out my info to other playtechs. Not only that I had 17 calls in the 24 hour period including 2 to 5 am.

I've gotten 3 different emails from separate casinos exactly like that..new marketing scam...they just want you to log back in and play...no phone calls were received or made I'm sure

I did receive calls from this playtech casino. My issue is that i have a new phone number, and the playtech I had deposited at is the only one that has it.
So I know for a fact that they had passed it out.

Same email here (from Titan casino), but no phone calls.

Is this the FIRST casino to have been supplied with this updated number?

Try contacting the other casino, and ask them what number they have for you when they were unable to contact you.
If they quote your NEW number, that only the Playtech you deposited in has, it's GOTCHA in writing.
Follow up by implying this might be why they were unable to reach you, and inquire WHERE they got this number for you that they didn't have any success with. IF they say "from our sister casino" in an attempt to bluff their way out of it, it's GOTCHA for a second time, since if the two are not part of the same group, then your personal data is being stored centrally by Playtech on behalf of all casinos using the software, and not being "ringfenced" properly, allowing illegal sharing BETWEEN completely different companies.

This is at odds with claims made by casinos that they take stringent measures to prevent your data from "escaping".

You could also try creating a new email address, and then telling just ONE of the Playtech casinos that this is now your email address. See if this magically propagates to the other unrelated Playtech casinos.

Yes this playtech is the only casino that had this new number. And when I had asked vegas red why after all this time they contacted me they stated,
that they had offers sent to many players that have not deposited for over a long period. When i went in and checked my account they had my old number.
Now the number they did have, was over 3 years old. I have had 2 new numbers since then. If any player wishes to know what casino this is please private message me. I wish not to expose the name in open till I have fully dealt with this issue. Great idea about the email addy change. My friend also plays I will get them to change theirs to see what happens.

I've suspected for some time that there are a large group of playtechs that are owned and run by the same people and this situation and those emails has confirmed it.

Laura I think you will find that this new casino and the casinos that contacted you are connected even though they may not be open about it.

It certainty won't be playtech themselves.

All I can say is that they must be desperate for players.

You need evidence that Vegas Red tried to call your NEW number, which they simply CANNOT know.

It could be that they tried your old number, and then sent the "we tried to phone" email when they couldn't get through. The 17 calls could just as easily have come from this latest casino that DOES have your new number, but they have NOT sent you an email to say they have tried, and failed, to phone you.

If this was managed centrally, I would have thought your new phone number would start turning up in the other Playtech casinos.

Well this new number I am using is a cell phone. And my old number would not of influenced this new number by any means. First off the land line is doing repair so this phone has been shut down. Next I have a cell for personal reasons and so on. This other number they called me at was not even 3 days new and the only place it had been passed out to was the casino I deposited at. And yes i had my son answer one of their calls and it was vegas red.
