Seems odd that a casino based in GIBRALTAR would tell a player to send their documents by post to MANILLA. I would have expected them to ask them to be posted to them in Gibraltar, and for THEM to get them verified, and even if this WAS in Manilla, the player would never know.
One player who made a fuss was told, in effect, it was down to PLAYTECH that this had to be done in Manilla, even if NOT by Playtech themselves.
It certainly seems like they have "something to hide", and are being coy about what EXACTLY is going on because they know players are NOT going to like the truth.
Although this case has nothing to do with verification, it DOES stem from the IMPOSSIBLE level of knowledge that a COMPETITOR Playtech casino has about the information a player has given ONLY to the Playtech casino they have recently played at, and apart from the leak, there is the sheer SPEED with which this "secure personal information" found it's way to this other Playtech casino.
It doesn't matter HOW this happened, it DID, and it is a BREACH OF TRUST that it was allowed to happen, and if Playtech were not involved, they SHOULD GET INVOLVED and start POLICING what some of their operators are getting up to, because as demonstrated by this case, it is PLAYTECH that often gets the blame, because it is ONLY them that can POSSIBLY have this level of access - even though they DON'T.
Which is more LIKELY in a players' view
1) A casino quite GLADLY gave a competitor the phone number of one of it's players, so that they could be POACHED from them by said competitor.
2) The competitor has access to some centralised database containing the details of ALL players registered at ALL Playtech casinos, and they used it to poach a player from a competitor, rather than detect possible fraud (the likely reason for such a database being around).
