I like high variance slots (high risk). So I wanted to re-join a Playtech casino and try slots like Great Blue and Penguin Vacation.

The max bet limit per spin on Great Blue was only about €1,5 in this casino. I sent a PM to the rep and asked him if the max bet could be increased because €1,5 per spin is too low for me. The answer was:

I'm afraid we cannot change the limit for Great Blue. However you should find that the rest of our slots will let you place a much higher bet than this one.

The max bet on Penguin Vacation is also very low, but fair enough. The casino can of course decide for themselves what kind of betting limits they would like to offer.

I visited another casino and the max bet for Great Blue was €1250 per spin.

Big difference.

What is the philosophy behind the two very different strategies? It's SLOTS.

Well the first thing that comes to mind is that they are operating on a shoestring and couldn't take a big hit.

Failing that, I can't see any other good reason to have such a low limit.

Personally I think it's a red flag.

I've never had a decent hit on great blue but haven't played it in years so maybe I'll give it another shot.

If you're looking for something new in slots try Roulette69 they have 8new games and are adding 4 more each week. It's a new Microgaming quickfire platform where traditional games can be mixed with slots from other providers. Worth a look.

Yes, that would be a reasonable explanation. But both of these casinos are big (and both are listed for trade on stock markeds), so I would think it is not about they don`t have the funds for big hits. That is why I think it is a bit interesting why they choose completely different strategies when it comes to high risk slots.

I have checked another big and well known casino, and their bet limit on Great Blue is €6,5 per spin.

I just don`t understand why these casinos are having such low max bets on high risk slots. On low/med variance slots the max bet is like $1000 +/-

Thanks for the tip about Roulette69:)
