    Blackjack Ballroom

    Hello everyone...

I received a cd in the mail a few weeks ago for Blackjack Ballroom.... having never played on a online casino before, I decided to give it a try.
Luckily I have been able to win a large amount of money in about a days worth of play.
Anyway, I have decided to cancel my account with them since I have had some amazingly bad luck with two different blackjack games they offer. After several hours of play, I could hardly get ahead much at all. It seems as though I would bust way too often or that the dealer would always beat me somehow, especially on high wages.

I was wondering if anyone else had similar experience(s) with this casino?

If you think the latter is "amazingly bad luck", better get used to this or you'll be closing your account at every casino you play. What are you going to do when you actually lose large amounts of money over a few days of play?

If you are playing 2 different BJ games, chances are you should be using 2 different Basic Strategies.

Before you play too much, learn about bet size and risk-of-ruin, so you are not too disappointed with your results. If you are going to worry about bad luck, keep track of your W's, L's, T's & BJ's and doubles so you can have an objective measurement of your luck.

    Have fun and good luck.

Trust me, I have done my research and have been playing blackjack in land based casino's all over for many years. I have won plenty of money playing basically by the strategies that you can find on Blackjack Info . It seems as though my experience with this casino is that once you bet big, say $200 or more a hand, your chances of winning are a lot less then if you play with smaller money. I have lost much more hands in a row with higher bets then with the smaller ones. Even double down's when I have 11' and dealer has a 6 showing, it's rediculous.
I think one of the reasons I won money at first is because I was a new customer, so they wanted my business. However, now I believe something is definately wrong. I have seen the dealer get 2 consecutive blackjacks in a row more then once, especially when I am betting large hands...

Sounds like you were saying maybe you were also betting big when you were a "new customer". I presume you were because it would probably be somewhat unlikely to win "a large amount of money" if you weren't.

Either way, hope you have a big bankroll when you're playing $200/hand. How much was it? You make it sound as if you haven't even lost money yet in which case it seems unlikely you've been losing more high bets than you've been winning. If I understand it right, you want to close your account because you won alot at the beginning and then broke even after that.

Glad to hear you played 2 different BS's for the 2 games. If you are lucky enough to find a game where you can draw to split Aces, Kenny's site doesn't cover that rule.

And, as always, any quantifiable evidence you might have is always appreciated.

    Clayman,

Yes I have also bet big from the start. Normally my bankroll would be over $500, however, I don't bet such big hands until I get get a little ahead, or if the case may be, if I loose a lot of hands in a row, I will bet big in hopes to recover. I had times where I had over $1000 for the bankroll and could almost never win unless I bet hands under $100.

Also, I am not stating that I haven't lost money. I am just stating that it has really been in the casino's favor recently, more then I have ever seen.
Also, I could probably give proof, however my account is closed at the moment. Besides, even though they keep track of all bets and hands, what would I get out of this anyway? My patience and knowledge for the game hasn't helped.

I would think others out there have had similar experiences, and I don't see their site listed on sites like this as being a good company?

I actually cashed out after that win. I think I started with a $750 bankroll to achieve that.
I wouldn't have bet the $500 on two hands if I wasn't ahead by so much. That big win is almost worthless since in the last few days I have lost about half of that if not more, and I actually took my time and played for a few hours instead of trying to be greedy

No need to bow down... The win only gave me an incentive to play more which resulted in big losses. Remember, there are always two sides to everything.

The probability of 2 consecutive blackjacks is about 1 in 450, so it is not such a rare event. The probability of getting BJ on both hands in multi-hand BJ is about the same, and you are not complaining about that!
I have had 4 blackjacks in a row once (and still lost my shirt in the end).
