Back in the 90's ...there was a whole lot less players as there are today (how do I know this? Because casinos used to post how many players were IN THE CASINO! I used to be 1 of 5 sometimes 1 of 8 at any given time so...less players is NOT an excuse or reason of what has happened and is happening today!...the wins and losses were still paying out back then in a normal fashion...unlike it is today...I NEVER had a losing streak run more than 3-4 deposits back then and the player base was extremely low...so why is it that one keeps wanting to explain the total continuous losses of deposit after deposit that reach into the 100's?? I mean...c'mon...if one cannot see the forest for the trees...then I suggest not to say anything IMO...because todays gambling is NOT NORMAL in any way shape or form...

Todays player base is in multiples of the 90's but yet back then one could still make a win or two in between short periods..

So the explanation of less players does not work at all..I do not care which way one tries to turn it...todays payouts are NOT NORMAL...the swing of things are not equal as they used to be...

Denial is a very strong emotion and I was one of them..I used every reason why things have deteriorated to the point of nothingness..until the light bulb went off...and there is NO explaning away no matter how hard one tries, to say things are the same and that the wins are fewer because of less players...I DON"T THINK SO....there are much more players still playing today than before and look what has happened...GREED, GREED and more GREED...casinos have gotten used to the gravy train and refuse to give up anything anymore as they used to..when online gambling was FAIR!

I can't really speak for "back in the 90s" as I've only really been gambling online the last 18 months or so. I learned fairly quickly that there are some really rogue sites out there, not only in terms on not paying out, but also in returns when playing. Since finding this site I only play at a small number of accredited sites. My most common deposits going to 32red. I have (like everyone) had losing streaks but I've also had some wins (both small and decent - well for me ). I guess that from these accredited sites I haven't noted too much difference over the year at 32red. I will admit that I feel the slots at clubworld have become much much tighter but figured that was a sign of the times.

Although I agree that some casinos have become tighter and even greedy , there is a difference between them doing this and being rogue. Rogue to me means no warnings, treating players unfairly with sudden percentage changes, cheating (e.g., the software is rigged unfairly), refusing payouts for ridiculous reasons, no customer support etc. Tight machines are simply tight machines and if I found a site too tight after a period of time I would simply choose not to play there. An example of this is 3dice. I very often do not win there. I find their machines tight but I choose to play there for the occasional small win, hope that I will win, and feeling that they are a genuine site who will treat me (the customer) with respect. I know that if I do win, I will get my money and quickly. However wins for me there are far and few between. I know that the slots are tight there but choose to play. Should we call them rogue or simply high variance casino site????

taysh075 : Should we call them rogue or simply high variance casino site????
Variance: another term used and bandied about to calm the players fears of changes happening and keep them playing , changes that are NOT the NORM...yes.....a word that means what it means...and used arbitrarirly when nothing else can be explained...just another word...

    VARIANCE
    Pronunciation (US):

Dictionary entry overview: What does variance mean?

    • VARIANCE (noun)
The noun VARIANCE has 7 senses:

    1. an event that departs from expectations
    2. discord that splits a group
    3. the second moment around the mean; the expected value of the square of the deviations of a random variable from its mean value
    4. a difference between conflicting facts or claims or opinions5. the quality of being subject to variation
    6. an official dispensation to act contrary to a rule or regulation (typically a building regulation)
    7. an activity that varies from a norm or standard

So, when one one sees the word "variance" bandied about, then one must take notice and agree with #'s 1,4, and 7...What is happening is NOT the NORM...hence the use of variance....it actually is being thrown about and used just as I have said it in plain English...IMO...but it is being used wrong because it is being used once again to try and "explain" away the huge shift in what is happening....JMO..

As to when a casino is rogue...
Rogue to me means no warnings, treating players unfairly with sudden percentage changes, cheating (e.g., the software is rigged unfairly),
Well, when a casino meets how many criteria can you call them rogue? You stated sudden percentage changes...this has happened...changing T&C's without warnings...there are a few other oddities happening behind the scenes we are not privvy to AS OF YET but they are there and happening...so...can we say that many casinos are on the brink of rogueness??? It is a fine line ...and it seems many good ones have teetered over that line somewhat...IMO..

Last year when we had numerous new RTG's and Rivals popping up all over...I warned many to be careful because as it was too good to be true that so many were becoming "accredited" or "baptism by fire" and they ended up falling off the face of the earth. Have we forgotten this fiasco...already?? Many were fooled by these upstarts...and lost monies when the doors closed unexpectedly...so...where do they fall ? Rogue, somewhat rogue? That is the point I am trying to show...all casinos are on the cusp of this...it only takes one good shove anymore and they are there..just as the original poster said..IMO...

Ladbrokes seems a good choice to stick with.
