    UKash Vouchers

    Hi

Has anyone had a problem with these today? I have used two vouchers (pounds) in two Microgaming casinos where I play but the currency conversion was not applied. eg for 20 pounds I was only credited with 20 dollars.

    ukash

hi ive used these a few times , but to be honest if your from the uk why on earth are you playing dollars? all microgaming casinos have £ $ & euro , im thinking that its only RTG games that play in dollars , you can contact ukash & see where the other missing funds are if the casino hasnt given you the other few dollars , failing that play in your own currency close the accounts at the casino & tell them why & you shouldnt have any problems reopening & depositing in £ , your better off playing in uk pouind anyway least you know how much youve won loss etc etc . unlike dollars where it goes up & down depending on exchange rate , hope that helps.

Many people play in USD when their from the UK for the simple reason it extends playtime Mr Jones. Microgaming casinos balance are represented in credits and 50 pounds for example gets you a lot more than 50 credits, varying depending as you say upon exchage rates.

It is not a problem if they also pay out at $1=£1.

Not all MGS casinos offered UK Pounds as an option. When I joined Villento, I could NOT choose UK Pounds, so chose US$ as a default, rather than an even more "exotic" currency. Since many operators have pulled out of the US, it seems that UK Pounds have become available at those few MGS casinos that didn't initially offer it. This was probably down to the US making up over 90% of the player base before UIGEA, where a casino HAD to offer the currency of 90% of it's players, regarding the others as optional. RTG casinos STILL operate, for the most part, exclusively in US Dollars.

Play time can be extended by lowering the stake, as well as using a currency with a lower value. Some early slots however, limited the minimum coin to 25c, forcing low rollers to bet higher than they wanted to in UK Pounds, so this would have been an incentive to choose dollars. Later slots though, allow 1c coins, so it is easy to stake much less.

An illustration is the difference between the old slot "5 Reel Drive", a 9 line WEIGHTED video slot, with an effective minimum stake of 2.25 per spin due to 25c being the lower limit of selectable coin size, and the newer Thunderstruck, and UNweighted 9 line video slot with a 1c minimum coin, making it possible to play all lines on 9c, or 9p in UK Pounds, as against minima of £2.25 and $2.25 for "5 Reel Drive".

If you like bonus though, you are better off playing in UK Pounds, since bonus limits are defined in CREDITS, rather than absolute terms. So much is this advantage that most casinos will NOT permit non UK players to choose UK Pounds over their native currency (or the default of the US Dollar) in order to maximise their bonuses.
