Hi All,

I always end up at the wrong end of the stick, specifically with accredited Casino's whom the trust is automatically instilled in...

With that being said, I played at a Casino (No Name for now) and played a video slot. I played close to 2000 spins with 33k (yes 33k) wagered and have a RTP of 31%...

Do you find this as a fair return or result given the amount of spins? Bear in mind that (i believe) 2000 spins takes quite some time and is a very reasonable amount of play in one session on ANY given Slot.

I then decide to give the slot another go feeling that i may have had a run of 'Bad Luck'... Next session - 238 spins (10 times smaller sample than the previous one) 4.7k wagered and a RTP of 48%...

Should i feel 'Cheated' or is this well within reasonable expectations?... Mathematicians, or ANY sane individual - Input would be appreciated... :)

Damn Nate... Forget high roller, your an Astro-Roller. 33K is huge numbers to play man.

But just to comment, I think that something isn't right here. I'm not saying
anything other than this here. Maybe if you were betting $1.00 - $2.00 a spin, your RTP would of
been way higher. No business likes huge losses.

It does depend which slot you are playing, some are higher variance than others.

I'd consider those results unlucky on a high variance slot but not unusual.

2000 spins is a pretty small sample for a slot.

Just to add, I ran some a couple of simulations to see the likelyhood of this.

10k loss in 33k wagered, 16.5/spin

High variance slot: about 1 in 12 chance
Low variance slot: about 1 in 2000 chance

Ballpark figures of course as slot vary a lot!

As said, it depends on what game it was.
I think its possible if you were playing Scary Rich or Break Da Bank Again. Also CentreCourt can be VERY brutal.
Or Mystic Dragon.. Paydirt..
But I know I would feel cheated.
I would be furious, lol.
Would at least cost me a new keyboard..:o

Fact is, high variance or not, that session of yours was a nightmare, I've never heard of or experienced a session like that.

Have to say that if a slotgame gives me such an awful return over the first 50-100 spins (depending on the variance) I leave it alone.
Dry spells can be endless..

An RTP of 31% with 33k wagered is roughly a 22800 loss.

Oops, must be tired - I read it as a HA of 31%.

Revised simulation:

Low variance: Pretty much impossible
High variance: Pretty much impossible (less than -7sd)

So either you were playing an immensley high variance slot, such as a couple of lines on Isis or something, or these results are a bit suspect.

Hi liquid,

Thanks for the post. How did you calculate this and how accurate is the SD? Where did u do the simulation?
