Comp points that expire - POLL

I just checked my comps at a casino that's accredited, and I don't have enough to cash in - and then I got a notice that almost HALF of my comps will be expiring at the end of the month! I think that's kinda sucky personally....I mean you get the comps for playing, so why should they expire? I play at a lot of different casinos and I don't have much of a gambling budget so my comps don't add up too quickly anyhow...

Anyhow what do you think - expiring comp points suck or not?

Yes it sucks, and seems entirely unnecessary.

I have seen casinos that expire comp points when they deactivate an unused casino account, BUT this is different. This is a player who plays regularly, but NOT like a "whale", and it seems they are in a perpetual trap of having points expire, yet at the same time never be able to gather enough to convert them. Given the poor rate of earning points, it can be hard to earn enough from such modest play to ever be able to cash them in.

I have never heard of a valid reason for expiring comp points from an ACTIVE account, so it looks like nothing more than a "trap" for the unwary player who does not watch the calendar, and makes regular checks each month for expiring points.
Rather than expire them, why not forcibly convert them after 3 months or so of the player not bothering.

Sometimes the player has trouble converting them, and doesn't pursue the matter & then forgets. Currently, every time I try to check my Loyalty points at All Jackpots, I get one of those "404 - page not found" errors. JF do NOT expire comps though, unless accounts become inactive (6 months of no activity). JF also send players a reminder email about a month before their account becomes inactive, telling them to log in & place a bet if they want to keep it active.

I had quite a few comps expire at Fortune Lounge because I was never able to reach their min target (I didn't play all that much there, since being bonus banned I only deposited minimal amounts, and only because I was playing for GoneGambling prizes).

FL have reverted to the old and WORSE system, and I cannot even find how to redeem comps in Platinum Play, and expect to lose some at Royal Vegas when they expire.

I stopped playing at casinos that have loyalty points that expire. I earned those points and their mine and if any casino thinks they can simply delete them. then its good bye to them. I personaly like to accumulate my points so that eventually i can use them instead of making a deposit, but if they expire in a short time frame whats the point in having them at all.

There are many casinos that deserve to go bust in my opinion and why people play at the still is beyond me. I can only hope that one day people wise up and these people go rapidly out of business. I certainly wont shed no tears to know they have ended up on the streets. Id probably laugh.

    Yes it sucks.

It is ok for those tiers. If you wish to get a higher rating , better bonuses etc, you have to play your monthly quota. But to take away comps you earned playing just like that, definitely sucks.

It is like "oh well, you have credits on your account and we will take up to 10 credits from your account - monthly". Why? Because you have it on your account, thats why.

I actually had somewhat of a heated conversation with Dan one of the reps at Platinum Play... you get 1 month to use your comp points over there?

What the hell is that, do you realise how much you need to actually play before you can accumulate enough to get?

I would almost have to play there literally everyday inorder just to claim the minimum amount..

It is set up for high rollers and not the average depositer at all.

3 Months I can understand, have them set up for a three month stink and if they are not used by then by all means take them but one month is just crazy..

Once again 3-Dice have set theres up quite well, it is set at 100 points and they stay there until you get enough to cashin $5 or you cna keep going.

Which casino is this? If that's their rule, other players should know about it...
