Canadian players your opinion on OLG starting online casino's

Some executive dude from a casino e-mailed me asking for my take on Ontario lottery and gaming commission opening online casino's. A move to come later this year. I said good and bad. Good because the industry will be highly regulated but bad because I think that the high pay outs (jack pot's) will become rarer and rarer. Just an after thought but maybe that's why casino slots are so tight lately. Rake in all you can before a huge outfit comes in and monopolizes the industry.

OLG pays out about 82 percent on their penny and two cent machines. They pay back about 46 percent on the lotteries and scratch tickets.

I think there would be a high trust factor, but unless they posted better returns than that, I would not rush over, unless they made it illegal to play where I play currently.

I could see them getting new players because of trust though. It would be interesting to see what platform(s) they use. If I could play some of the IGT slots like Cleopatra, I might have to keep part of my budget for them.

I know the OLG charity casino near me and the Slots and Trots locations don't offer much in the way of comps, I prefer Casino Rama near Orillia, a native run operation that offers great comps.

I don't know how Niagara or the former Windsor are for comps.

I'm wondering if the online payout % will change in line with what is already available coupled with the fact that there is much less overhead than for a Brick and Mortar casino???

Not that I am a proponent to OLG but the slot RTP's are in the range of 88% to 92% based on the denomination at max bet based on 10 million spins. Manitoba, Sask and BC are approx the same. Now saying that, if they get involved I would agree that the usual 94% average we nomrally play will plumett.

My thoughts are that if any government run agency has a hand in it, they'll find a way to fuck it up...just like they do everything.

Seriously though...sort of agree with Jasmine, I'd like to see what they'll have on offer before I make up my mind. I doubt any software will surpass my love for MG, RTG and 3Dice. We shall see.

I have a sneaking suspicion we will be seeing the Canadian Casinos pop in with Wagerworks software as they already have a few of the same titles you find in the B&M.

Its just a theory but its the only way I can explain the banning of Canadians from using WW..
