    A Win But ?

Ok not casino related but gambling related so here goes.
Picked a 1 line lucky dip for £1.00 for saturdays UK lottery. Got up this morning and found I hit 5 numbers. Paid a nice 2.5k ) thing is being 1 number off and that 1 number I needed was so close ... numercially. I know its great to win that amount but its that feeling of why couldnt the last number have come in - would have been over 7 million lol. Ah well certainly not tempting bad karma with bitching but wanted to share. Will splash out on somthing for the kinds with the winnings. So close and yet .... damn!

    Congrats on the win!

Once I bought a lottery ticket and every single number was ONE number below what was drawn...I had 6, they drew 7 - I had 15, they drew 16...and so on. What are the odds of that happening?

Congrats on your win! 2,5k is still nice sum!
As for me I used to buy lottery tickets from time to time, but never was lucky, so I gave up.

    Around 13 million to 1, I guess.

Well yeah hell 2.5k is a good hit but didnt see the actual draw so spent 10 mins torturing myself and found the draw as they came out

Balls as they were drawn on Saturdays lottery :

    26 48 46 28 32 01

    26 we had
    48 we had
    46 we had
    28 DOOMED (WE HAD 25)

So at this point with 3 balls taken out of the equation that left 46 balls left to draw from For the 4th number which at that point in the game gave us a 1 in 46 chance of getting number 25 instead of that damn 28

    32 we had
    01 we had

could have been worse I suppose to have had the first 5 balls then missed the big hit on the 6th ball which would have given us odds of 1 in 44 of getting a straight 6 but thats squashed by the fact that for the bonus number we already had 5 balls in the bag - take 6 away from the 49 gave us a 1 in 43 chance of getting over a 100k if we had hit the bonus ball.

All the above is about as relevant as cats are to horse crapola lol ...
still wife picked up the check n cash today and has now cleared off for a few days with the kids leaving me to work ... kindly she did give me £20 to buy a 6 pack of beer. Ah the bitter road of a gambler

The same as winning the lottery surely?

Anyway congrats on the win doomed4ever and look at this way.
If someone offered you 2.5k for your ticket before the draw you would have bit their hand off!
