    Finding that happy place

Over the short length of time that I have been on this forum, I have honestly learned a lot of things that have made me a smarter player. Not just from those I agree with but also for those I don't. Such as Nifty and this is not a suck up. It's just difficult to accept reasonable logic when a player seems to never see the great payouts that are displayed on the winner screenshots or talked about when Kudoing a casino.
The synical side of me works against my better reasoning and builds into an RTP nightmare that just keeps happening over and over. Why this happens to some more than others, who knows.
I have read the great reviews and seen the screenshots of for instance a casino such as 3Dice, which was ranted about recently. I guess I am just po'd for not having the same experience there as others do. I shouldn't chastize or gripe about them, just because it hasn't worked there for me.
Same with RTG. Love the slots there, but for me the payouts have always been like hunting for a live T-Rex, for me, can't find one. But it can be a great platform for many.
After time and time again of beating my head against the wall and being stubborn not wanting to take the advice of "move on" and so on, I had finally come to the conclusion that this advice, not because someone said so, but because I decided it for myself, was a good idea for me personally.
Of course I still have the want to jump in on a good thread regarding venting on RTP, freespin and bonus rounds and such, but I know there is a casino out there that has RTP to fit any individual when you are diligent and patient in finding it.
For 3Dice and the many RTG casino's, you are great places to play for many, but sadly not for everyone. This is no fault of yours, it's just the way the cards fall and we all have to take the cards we are dealt and play them as we see fit. This does not diminish the fact though that a good place, is still a good place.
I personally will try from here on out not to, personally jump in on a thread against an individual casino, unless it's a total rogue.
I personally will try to be more understanding with the posters that like to give the technical mathmatical explaination of why RTP works the way it does. Basic instinct is, don't tell me what to do, but logically the explainations have merit, just my stubborness doesn't like to hear it when I want to rant. Venting/ranting is very cleansing and we all do it at one time or another. So nothing personal to those who try to give me the other side of the picture and I get opposing about it.
RTP, although a very frustrating thing, is a force that has a life of it's own and nothing we say will make it any different, it is what it is. For the reps and owners of casinos that are proven and trustworthy, we can only trust you when giving you our money for a fair game. If it doesn't work for me, this does not by any means makes it unfair, it simply doesn't work for me.
With my very minimal casinos I play now, 2, I do have my ups and downs, but for me the ups and downs come at a pace that is reasonable in how I view my return. I may not have return everytime, or every 5 times but by the 6th time, it's like the flood gates have opened and I am right there with my bucket catching my share before the gates close again.

So here I am sitting at my desk, facing my computer, with now only 2 casinos that I play and I am not sad nor bitter that I don't have a desktop filled with dozens of casino shortcuts anymore. I realized that like a clothing store, there are sizes and styles for everone and anyone can and will find their perfect fit, perfect style if you try on enough of them.
So, yes I have found my happy place.

But if I get on a rant or join a rant, don't take it personal, as like a casino, we have our ups and downs too.

The thing you have to remember Mavin, and what puts it all into perspective....is that those winning screenshots you see, are nothing more than the HIGHLIGHTS of God knows how many sessions. And how much money spent. I've always been against the WS thread...as I believe it's deceptive in a way.

I've had some amazing hits at 3Dice for example. About two weeks ago, I hit a 1000X plus my bet on the Clams game, ie. $280 on a 25cent bet. Sure it's great, and I was ecstatic...but if I post that shot, how do I know someone doesn't see that and think to themselves..oh wow, CC is hot at 3Dice. Which is not the case...it was just my turn at the high variance win, nothing more.

And trust me, for that one good session I had....I probably had a dozen or more that paid nothing. I just don't post about it...because it's part of gambling to me. Put in your money, take your chances..and when the decent hit comes along...get out of Dodge. Withdraw your money and come back to fight another day. I guarantee if you keep playing, you will lose it. And then comes the frustration because you could have cashed out, but didn't.

You just need to remember that pics in the WS thread, are simply some very high points, out of possibly dozens and dozens and dozens of losing sessions. You also have to ask how much money has been spent getting some of those shots...and how much time. Myself, I play maybe 6 or 7 hours a week total (not including some 3Dice tournies). Some people play that much every single day, and more. They obviously have the time and the budget to do that. So it's all relative. And you shouldn't let yourself get sucked into chasing the rainbow...because it doesn't really exist. There are very few overall winners in this game..it's the nature of the beast.

Very sound advice that's 100% true

My average wins per slot sit around 7K per win. But I'm betting big too. Sometimes I think I can't lose but I get too damn greedy. The next day when I go to make another deposit, I know I should have cashed out that $10K. But it's too late then...

It's good to keep these feeling alive, it reminds me at least that I was stupid for not hitting the cash out button; as Pina stated "get out of Dodge".

    Cheers

Yes, I was kind of saying that. However for the winner screenshot section, it has a good side to it too. It does show that these casinos do have winners and people can have a day of making a real withdrawal. So many times when I log onto my casino, I see the marque of the same winners scrolling by, not changing much. Which can make some people think maybe they have no other winners, just the few they show. So the winner screenshots section shows that all the casinos do have many winners at any given time, so putting your money in although can seem futile at times, it can also reward you back with patience and better understanding the ups and downs.
No seasoned player would expect to see wins everytime they play, that would be an unrealistic way of approaching the online casinos.
Even though I have had my rants and still may from time to time, I have always known this to be the case when playing online.
So, keep the screenshots coming, because it does confirm that players really do win.

Ouch Dave, that's gotta hurt! But lesson learned. If I had a balance like that, trust me, I would be like a bandit running to my hideout and the casino would never see it's 10k again .
But many times I have done the very same with much less.

A good honest post Mavin and I enjoyed reading it.

I bet alot different than most people and of course it is not for everyone. I have had alot of success especially this year in my stlye. But people should realize that you can't just set the amount you bet per spin and keep playing that for a long time. The key in my honest opinion is to mix up the bet sizes and number of lines ALOT.

I often bet just a nickle and play one line. However I mix my bet size up going to say a dollar on one line. Then if things are not working I will switch to nine lines but again keep changing the bet size from 1 cent per line to up to 25 cents per line. I keep my bets fairly small overall.

My point is mix it up and don't sit there and set the auto for 100 spins and expect to win. Versatility is the key and works for me.

If you are losing try something different

Thanks Vegasbum for your input. I have never tried the way you play, but have thought about it as I have heard it spoken of here before. But the interesting point is we do all find our different ways of playing and tailor it till we are comfortable with it.

So do you when you play the lessor lines miss out on many good hits? What kind of return do you actually get playing that way? Just curious, but intrigued.

Yes I miss out on many hits. But the key is when playing 1 line it lets me play bigger stakes like 1 dollar and if and when I hit it can be huge. But I can sit there and play 1 line for 1 dollar all day and expect to win. Like I said you have to mix bet size and number of lines.

It can hurt missing big payoffs but that is the sacrifice for my way of doing things. I missed a 1000X my bet just this morning. But hey you can't win them all

I do much better on MG slots than any other platform but do play RTG as well.

You are right we all do things different and thats what makes us gamblers!

I enjoy the WS and have posted a few. It's nice to see that some of the slots really can pay out and are posted by real people.

I have some WS that I won't post because I wound up busting out but at the time they were screenshot worthy. Have a great $500+ win on Scary Rich 2 betting .60 cents. Somehow doesn't seem right to post it.

I agree Vegasbum and think we all have our own unique approaches to playing. I too have found that I do better on MG than the others.

However I have also found that sometimes sticking on a game for long periods can also pay off. I have for the last few weeks or more been intensively playing Jungle 7's and have gotten some pretty good and steady hits and many hours of play on minimal deposits and have made several withdrawals. Of course this doesn't happen with this game normally, as it can be more than a little brutal, but when it's hot, one has to just go for it. I have posted several screenshots of some of the wins and will post another from today.

For myself I usually like to jump around to many of the bonus slots and the classics, mixed, but lately I have been gravitating to the classic slots more as I have been doing much better on them.
