All Casino Reps please read

I would like to make a suggestion to ALL the online Casinos that accept Canadian players.

Since Neteller dropped US players, there has been a scramble to enable them to deposit, not so much for Canadian players when Neteller dropped us. This is due to the fact that the US made up a huge portion of the online business, I can understand that, the US population is over 300 million, whereas Canada stands at about 34 million.

Our options are limited, most Canadian Banks won't allow CC transactions for gaming, the only way to fund an ewallet like Moneybookers is by wire transfer, most casinos don't accept Echeck from Canadian banks, and the fees for C2P are absurd. A lot of the Casinos I would like to play at don't accept Instadebit, and waiting for the funds is a pain, so I have dropped them.

If you don't want to or can't set up for Echeck, which takes 3-5 days to clear, I have a simpler solution, with VERY low costs for the player and the casino, and is pretty much instant.

Interac Email Money transfers usually only cost $1.50 to send regardless of the amount, and receiving them is FREE, limits do apply. All you need to send or receive them is an email address and an online Canadian Bank account that supports this service. Payments are as good as cash as soon as they are accepted, so no more waiting 3-5 days or more for funds to clear. Also, no sensitive banking information is ever required, which would be a HUGE consideration for those that shy away from giving this info online.

As a deposit only option for Canadians, I think this is worth checking into, you might just get a new influx of Canadian players with this payment option.

Of course, for suggesting this I would require 1% commission on all transactions in perpetuity.

Myself, I use a prepaid Visa card that I got from Moneymart. Up until a few weeks ago, it was Mastercard. But MM changed it over to Visa, and there hasn't been a hitch. I go in and load what I plan on spending that day or night, and I'm done. No load fee either, which is better than Mastercard was. And I'm not sure about other casinos, but 32Red tells me with Visa, I can have any withdrawal sent directly back to my card now...and then take out the money at any ATM. If they can do it, I'm sure there must be other casinos who can refund to Visa. I haven't tried it as yet, just repeating what I was told.

I also use Moneybookers for withdrawals.

EDITED TO ADD: I forgot to mention that UKash vouchers are now also an option for Canadians. I haven't actually used it as yet, but did sign up with them a couple weeks ago. The website is a bit hinky, at least for me....and it doesn't look like there's a ton of retailers as yet...but it is an option. Buy what you need, and use as you want. Then cashout to Moneybookers, or back to Visa, or wire transfer or whatever. A link to their website:

Hiya: To add to the OP, I have a question for ALL Casino Reps......

How do you decide what deposit/withdraw options you are going to use at your casino? There are a lot available, everything from send it to the north pole, and thru 7 other countries, and we will get it by the end of the year, to, just walk in the Door, cash in hand, and you are ready to play...

Who decides what options are in, and what ones are out? and, Why would some options be left out at all?

I think you guys have some better depositing/ withdrawing options then we in the US have right now . It may come down to where the few we do have will be stripped from us, as some are doing now.

IMHO both countries online players have been screwed over by their own goverments and some software platforms, i wont name the softwares but im sure you can guess

Honestly, I don't see where CDN players have any problems at all. Plenty of deposit/withdraw options and we can play at pretty much any casino we want with the exception of Wagerworks, Rival (which is a favour to us) and Vegas Tech (English Harbour and I wouldn't play there with plugged nickels anyway).

The only thing we really lost was Neteller. Beyond that, all has remained the same. And with the Quebec government getting into online gaming now, I doubt that the federal, or any provincial, government is going to attempt to ban online gaming. Any and all proceeds made from gambling in Canada are tax free anyway ie. horses, casinos, etc.....so they aren't in it for the taxes.

I didn't know about the Moneymart Visa, and I did some checking online for prepaid and gift cards. Most of the ones I found stated they couldn't be used for gaming. It sounds like a viable deposit option, for now, until they go the way of MC, thanks.

Lately I have read on a lot of sites that they can no longer send payments back to ANY Visa or Mastercard, which isn't really a problem because I'd just send it to Moneybookers, but leads me to believe that soon you won't be able to use any of them.

I didn't realize that UKash is available for Canadians, but there again it's a funding problem without a viable credit card or a week wait for a wire transfer with all the fees attached. IMO Moneybookers is better and accepted everywhere.

One of the MGs that I play at accepts Echeck, instant deposits, but if you win and withdraw within a day or two, you have to wait for the dep to clear, then they release the funds, then it's 3-5 days to your acccount.

What is great about EMT is it's instant, no clearing time, it's the Canadian equivalent to Moneybookers, except it goes directly to your bank. I don't think it would be that hard for them to set up, and it would save them and us a lot of fees in the end. It's a win win for players and casinos.

I sure wish there was a way we could ALL deposit and withdraw without all the wait and hassle. I'm tired of the government and big business telling me how to live my life, it's MY life, and MY money.

This option was available a while back through USEMYBANK, that was a email transfer, CIBC caught wind of the program and squashed it, they even threatened to close my accounts, shortly there after USEMYBANK dropped the service, I am guessing pressure from the regulators, not sure if USEMYBANK is still around but they did offer a PAD (pre authorized debit).

I checked out usemybank a long time ago and the thought of giving them my card number and password to access my online bank account scared the hell out of me. No way I would ever do that. They were just another middleman anyways, my suggestion is to cut out the middlemen.

If a casino was to open up a small business account with a Canadian bank, transfers would be painless and almost instant. To move funds over the internet you can't get better than $1.50 per transaction flat fee.

The MC/Visa thing is affecting US issued credit cards as far as I've been told..and you shouldn't have any problems with this one at all. My online statement even breaks it down for me monthly....how much I spend, and on what type of activity. Online gaming is spelled out in black and white, and I've never had a transaction rejected anywhere.

Re: UKash....I guess you can buy a voucher online? But if can get to the locate retailers page (that's what I meant by hinky)...there are places you can just go in person and actually buy a voucher or vouchers, to use when you require one. I think you punch in your postal code, and it will give you a list/map of merchants in your area.

But I still say the prepaid card is the way to go. Besides the convenience, I find it an excellent way to track and keep in check how much I spend. I know if it were a true "credit" card, I would probably end up overspending. This way I can't spend more than I load.

I agree, the MoneyMart Visa is best, they do give you an option of $15 unlimited transactions per mth or a $2 load fee if you dont use much, I have NEVER had a decline with the card and you can load it as a bill payment (takes a day or 2), saves from going into branch.
