If the casino had of taken a week to close the account then it would not of really mattered. The main issue is the request of the password, hence the
90+ posts. It is good that the casino has responded to player outrage and changed their policy on this.

However closing an account does not mean all the players details get wiped from the database. These records will be kept on file for years for legalities. So closing it doesn't really make any difference, it is just the method the casino is using to confirm the player which ignited the debate.

Why dont they set up a secret question thats only known by the player and the casino, this is done at many other casino's probably so they dont have to ask for passwords, it takes away any problems about somebody else shutting an account down,
    I gave up gambling,
Now all i ever do is make mind bets,
You never bet any real money you only bet in your mind.
The results are fairly good, ive only lost my mind 5 times so far this month

If a player doesn't want his or her information in a casino database the player shouldn't be opening casino accounts. Our information is in hundreds of databases. Anytime you've ever applied for a loan or opened a bank account your personal information is entered into a database. That doesn't mean that anyone at the company can browse this information or anyone who happens to have access to the company's email can access your password and fraudulently open your account.

It was a serious security hole. It's been filled.

    Case closed.

You should NEVER have to give your password to anyone - not even to the casino.
I can not fathom why Rushmore have this highly bizarre policy.

Well, I am one of the players who requested a closure, and objected to having to send my password. I've no problem with the current method, so I've now sent the required info. No response, so not sure if I'm closed or not. I just asked this morning, so I'll give them until Monday to see if support takes care of it for me.

    Account now closed

I received an email from CherryRed confirming my account closure. Thank you for modifying an unreasonable policy to something more palatable.
