Initial estimates for projected deaths were at 50,000 , but have now risen to a more likely 100,000. We have just eclipsed the 72 hour mark since the disaster took place and the desperation is setting in heavily among the people recovering in the country right now. The power of mother nature does not discriminate. This has affected all residents of the country, men, women, children of all ages, races and nationalities. And unfortunately, children are always the most vulnerable population in any natural disaster. Very rarely do we have the ability to help this many people with such little effort when it is needed so desperately. These people are lacking the bare essentials for survival, food ,water, medicine, and shelter. We can make a difference!
