Letter from Jackpot Factory re: new games

    Dear Cindy,

I would like to take this opportunity to personally write to you regarding the recent decision not to release new games to players in the US.

This decision was made by our software provider and unfortunately, is beyond our control. Due to a miscommunication, we were not aware of this change in policy before the weekend, or we certainly would have notified you in advance. For this I apologize.

Please rest assured, this does not reflect any change in the Jackpot Factory's policies regarding US customers. Our US players are always welcome and will continue to receive the same great casino service they have come to expect. I hope you will continue to take advantage of the wide variety of games at our casinos, and enjoy good luck and have a great time playing.

If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at davidb@jackpotfactory.com. I will do my best to reply personally to all emails but I do ask for your patience.

Remember, you can get regular updates about the casino at my blog - www.jfspokesman.com.

    All the best,

    David Brickman
    Vice President of Player Affairs
    Jackpot Factory

    Cindy

    This is totally illogical

This has involved extra programming, and for what The new games are NOT progressive, they are just "normal" games. Making them available to US players will make no difference to deposits and withdrawals from existing US players, nor will the new games attract NEW players from the US, since this is not allowed.

Existing US players will now be using an earlier version of the client, because they will no longer get the update. Oddly enough, WE were told these updates were COMPULSORY for "security reasons" when a while back the player community wanted changes that would permit players to CHOOSE whether or not to accept an update, or continue playing with a previous client version, since the update process tended to render the client unusable for 1 to 2 hours before the most recent file configuration was released. It STILL takes hours for those on a dial-up, or slow broadband, connection.

Maybe there is an agenda behind this, it is possible that eventually MGS will instruct operators to ditch ALL US players. This move indicates some kind of "phasing out" approach, perhaps to allow operators time to adjust, rather than an overnight loss of ALL their US players, as was the case with Crypto and Playtech. Certainly, a lack of new games from now on will cause some US players to drift away from the brand, and find another that is still giving them new games.

My thought too. It appears we should be on alert that usa players may possibly be closed out. There was also not much warning when Micro closed to new us players. If it does happen I will not be surprised.

This has been the popular rumor lately.

    Thumbs down

This move to restrict new regular games to us in the US has greatly dissapointed me yet again with Micrgogamming. I have therefore in my own way phased them out. They are now no longer a place I will play, just on principle.

This illustrates my point. How many other US players will feel this way, feeling unwanted by the brand's no longer giving them new games.

Microsoft use this exact same strategy to move users over to new operating systems, they withdraw the update facility for the older ones, including SECURITY related ones.

It'll be a year or two before I get around to trying all of MGs existing games. I just scrolled through the first three pages of MGs slots list (18/pg) and counted 34 slots I have never played out of the first 54 listed, alone. So if there's 12 pages (plus a bit) of slots that's around 220 and as 34 is around 60% of 54 that means there's a grand total of......a whole lot a slots I've never played yet. I never even check out the new slots when they showcase 'em. If they hadn't said US Players wouldn't be getting any new games, I doubt I'd notice.

I found another thread on this subject, and it seems the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. There has been UTTER CONFUSION over this, and there is STILL some doubt as to whether this is the case, or it is a "technical issue" delaying the release of the "normal" new games to US players.

Where some US players might notice is where casinos run promotions based on the new games. US players will be excluded from such promotions if they cannot play the featured games. Exclusion from promotions is a disincentive to continue playing, and would itself have the effect of deterring many players with these "Grandfather rights" from continuing to exercise them. The other thread also discusses evidence of a "secret" exclusion of US players from "random draw" type promotions, despite these US players fulfilling the published criteria, and NOTHING being said about them being excluded, either individually, or as a group.

Crypto and Playtech screwed you overnight, MGS seems to be doing it slowly over time

I have some sympathy with operators over this. It's not their fault they have been placed in this ridiculous position. After all MD's have ended up in jail over this gambling legislation fiasco.

Let me say right off the bat, JPF is the ONLY casino group to send me a notice/explanation. Thank you!

Now... would Bryan or someone who can get in touch with someone at MG please tell us WTF is going on?

Personally... I'm afraid to leave any money in any onlne casino overnight -- especially MG. Who knows when they'll pull the plug completely?

    Sheesh...
Alice: But I don't want to go among mad people.
The Cat: Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.
