Easy to overlook, but this has the potential to be the most damaging moment the industry has ever faced if the allegations of criminal syndicates at work prove true. It would not only hurt the industry's chances of expansion and credibility in a massive way, but also raise serious questions over the software manufacturer's due diligence processes. Fingers crossed that these are just unfounded allegations.

The first article seems to be stating that the police were overstepping their authority and arresting people who were not breaking the law. Here is quote from the article.
The judge also seemed to doubt whether Vaknin had broken the law.
Bingo... the 2nd link goes to a blank page.

They probably dont have any. Well Wagerworks and maybe Cryptologic are different but RTG, MG and Playtech doesnt seem to be that interested in who they license their software to as long as they get paid.

Would still see it more as a blow to Costa Rica as a "licensing jurisdiction". They (the licensing jurisdictions) have a much higher responsibility than software providers IMO. But I guess one really cant call Costa Rica an licensing jurisdiction..

Israel okays extradition of suspected Israeli mob kingpins to U.S.
Jerusalem District Court on Wednesday approved the state's request to extradite senior mob figures Yitzhak and Meir Abergil to the United States as per a criminal indictment that was served against them last year. The Abergils are the subject of a racketeering investigation.

Israeli authorities will also extradite three additional suspected criminals - Sason Barashi, Moshe Malul, and Yisrael Ozifa - implicated in the Abergil investigation.

I'd be very surprised if they were extradited. In the past, Israel has refused to extradite its Jewish citizens, even to the US, offering instead to let them be detained in Israel, and then put on trial in absentia, i.e., while being physically absent from the jurisdiction where charges were filed.
